This is possibly the best racing game I have ever played. There are plenty of amazing tracks, each containing innumerable shortcuts, stunt opportunities, crazy landscapes and hidden unlockable cars. The main factor is that the tracks themselves are fun, not just the scenery. The Cars are hidden very well and make finding (and then even harder, getting them) a quest that lasts much longer and rewarding then most other games. The championships are at a perfect difficulty level making this game aproppriate for hardcore gamers as well as children just being introduced to racing games.
The graphics aren't the most amazing thing ever, but extra effort was put in to make each car's special effects match their looks. For example, when you use a turbo and flames appear behind the car, they come out in various places depending on the positioning of items such as exhaust pipes and huge engines. The sound also is perfectly matching, and the music is real as opposed to generic looping randomness.
Yet another winning feature, you can save to a memory pak if you own one, but if you don't then you will be assigned a code that will return you to the exact spot you left off on entry.
Even if you think you have too many racing games, you should keep an eye out for this gem. If you think you are too old for toy cars, (yeah right) you should still give this game a chance. It's not a brand stuck to a bad game, it's an amazing game with a brand on it!

Hot Wheels Turbo Racing has all the makings of a solid, standard racing title, but not much else.

A Hot-Wheels video game may sound cheesy but this game is anything but that

There's so much to love about Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing, that its clumsy controls can't even bring the fun down.
