Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge E3 2004 Preshow First Look

THQ and Climax are reteaming to deliver a new game based on the world's most popular little cars, Hot Wheels.

THQ's Hot Wheels games have combined the standard racing game formula with wild stunts and death-defying leaps. That tradition sounds like it's set to continue with the latest game in the series, Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge.

Stunt Track Challenge puts all of the driving action against the backdrop of an "extreme" game show. You will move from episode to episode, completing insane stunts and winning races to wow audiences. You'll win better cars along the way, and at the end of the show's season, the winner picks up a gold-plated car.

The game will contain 24 different stunt challenges, as well as 12 race tracks. You'll be able to choose from 29 different authentically modeled Hot Wheels cars as well as one car that will be platform-exclusive.

The game is coming to both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The Xbox version will allow for four-player offline, split-screen racing. The PS2's offline support will only allow for two players, but the PS2 version will have online action that will allow up to six players to race over the Internet or a LAN. PC and Game Boy Advance versions of the game are also in the works, but details on those versions' specific features are unavailable as of this writing.

Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge is scheduled to be released in October.
