@IceJester45 yeah i know what you mean, why wouldn't people like the new physics engine, surely thats the point of a golf game. And when you say "a difference in shot mechanics" what you mean, i know on the psp systems its traditional to have a bar, i mean i suppose they could do t like the ps3 version now. Thanks its been enlightening to speak to you :)

@itchyflop, The most striking difference between Hot Shots Golf 1 and 2 is the art design. The original Hot Shots Golf, which was developed by Camelot Software Planning, has a very heavy anime look to it. When Clap Hanz took over with Hot Shots Golf 2, it gave the series the caricature style HSG has today. Also, Clap Hanz made the physics a little more realistic -- much more like what the series has today. Many people didn't like the changes -- especially to the physics. I, however, did. I was a very loyal fan through Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee (PSP). Hell, HSG is still my favorite casual golf series. But, after five games, I just don't think I could go through the routine again.

@IceJester45 i couldn't agree more, i assume the course will be different, one thing ive never seen is dlc, like extra courses., its a huge game on the ps3 anyway. The psp second version had mini games in where you had to chip into different holes with changing scores, that was quite good fun. How did clap hanz do it originally before mixing it ?? there should be more than just power shots too, lots of other tools to use, but then and i know this is a contradiction being a foreign quirky golf game, you move away from traditional golfing. I see your point about tiger woods, there really good to play.

@itchyflop, I didn't think you were being flippant. As far as the PS3 version goes, I never played much of it. I stopped buying the HSG games after the first PSP one. I owned Hot Shots Golf 1 through 4 on PSX and PS2, and I had the PSP version, too. As I said, the shot mechanics would just be a start. The series hasn't changed much since Clap Hanz mixed the physics and Western versions' art up with HSG 2. That was 12 years ago. As much as I liked HSG's gameplay, I eventually got tired of doing the same thing over and over again in each game. I hold games like Hot Shots and Virtua Tennis to a higher standard than I hold Madden and FIFA because the latter games are released annually(though I don't buy either of the latter games each year). If a dev team has three or four years to make a game, I'd like to see some changes.

@IceJester45 i wasn't being flippant, iv actually got everybody's golf on PS3 and i love it !! i had the psp version too. i dunno if you know but on the ps3 version you can have it where its actually like golf without the power bar, making it quite realistic. My point being i used to think like this, games like pro evo or madden were all just the same, until i played a versions pro evo from number 6 to now and they have indeed evolved the mechanics and game play, and its much better. I just wanted your thought on the matter and ideas on how they could. But essentially its still a golf game with limited game play, however if you like golf you ll like it, but i spose you could say that about COD.

@itchyflop, Well, new shot mechanics for starters. That hasn't been updated in at least a decade -- maybe longer. Can't quite remember. The HSG installments kind of all run together. I still don't understand your initial point. Why does HSG's being a golf game prevent the series from evolving? Other golfing franchises have done it.

@IceJester45 do what dude ?? I don't understand how you can develop it any further ?? :)

@itchyflop, Tiger Woods managed to do it. Even Hot Shots did, at one point.

I want a new Hot Shot/Everybody Tennis! My brothers and I play that game to death on the PS2. They don't like waiting for the stroke games, so it's hard to get them to play HSG at all.

I love HSG, but series seriously needs to evolve. Good review.

@Gelugon_baat There's just something about Hot Shots Golf games lol Whereas when most games are recycled, you feel tired playing the same game again. HSG is one of the few exceptions (I haven't played the Vita version but I've played a lot of previous games).

I love this golf series since PS2, very addictive and fun to play. This one and Ninja Gaiden my pick on start.

The first one on the PSP was like crack to me, I'll probably pick this one up.

I'm glad Tom gave it a good score. Since you don't diss Hot Shots haha On a more serious note, I'm glad it's still the 3 click swing. And daily leaderboards are going to be addicting.
