Good for multiplayer. Awful fail for single player.

The single player campaign is garbage.
Be prepared for cheating AI and constant surprise attacks from out of nowhere (literally). The AI has no restrictions unlike your own fleet with its limited numbers and long build times. You will never have time to rebuild your fleet after you complete objectives, the game forces you to progress to the next mission before you have a chance to rebuild thanks to dim witted developers. You may very well move immediately to the next mission/map right after a huge battle that destroys most of your fleet leaving you with nothing to fight with at the next stage. Almost all of the new missions start with you needing to take immediate action against a overwhelming force which becomes impossible at times because of the forced level progression and no consideration of the time it takes to build things.
Even when you get things going smoothly for a moment the failures of your people in the game ruin any feeling of satisfaction. An example would be a mission where you capture a powerful alien battleship only to have your people in-game partially damage it from a cut-scene weapon misfire. all that work for nothing.. fun? (also the ship is supposedly a super battleship from an advanced race but can be destroyed by fighter squads....)
Every time you make a move your people are always one step behind and seem completely incompetent. It makes you want the Vegir to win so your stupid people will no longer pollute the universe with their fail. Terrible story as well with all the strange pseudo religious ways the people talk & weird, impulsive events. After all is finished and won you will not feel satisfaction, but perhaps disappointment and anger.
Single player is just a damn shame.
Multi player is fun because you have none of the bs from single player.
Overall this game is a huge let down. Only good for/with mods or multi player.
