A fairly short and generic shooter that is a fun ride the whole way through.
I personally enjoy a good shooter, and I judge the overall experience on quality much more heavily than on quantity. Homefront was a success for me, because the plot and characters held my interest the whole way through. The game was never tedious, but was oftentimes very exciting, and I left the game with a smile on my face.
The game uses a checkpoint save system, and regenerative health. You can carry two weapons at once, and every enemy killed will drop a gun and ammo. This is all the norm in todays shooters.
There are also breaks from FPS action, and they are done so well. There is a level where you pilot a chopper and also a stage where you are the air support and are firing missiles down onto a bridge. There are a few others as well.
I went into this game not expecting much, and left it completely satisfied. I would not say Homefront is a must play game in any stretch of the term, but I WOULD heartily recommend it to avid shooter fans.
