I've always been a cartoon and anime fan, and when I saw this title for the gba, I ended up picking up a copy at a local shop. Forgetting that about a year ago, I had played and disliked the same title. I was not very impressed at the overall gameplay and duration of the game. I personally believe that even fans of the digimon series may find this game hard to swallow, unless they are younger gamers just getting into the gaming scene for the first time. The option to select several different characters from seasons 1-3 is a nice touch, although I think there could have been more selection, and some better choices for a few. Gameplay is pretty simplistic, beat up the other digimon and collect the berries or balls, they looked like balls to me. Controls are pretty basic, although I did find that the dash option did not always respond, and occasionally when attacking the other character, the game would "glitch" and hit "through" the opposing character. I found this game to be semi-amusing, however the challenge level was just not there. Upon playing this title for the first time, I ran through the game without losing until I reached the final boss, which in my personal opinion, was a really cheesy fight and certainly more challenging than all of the previous fights, however i did not enjoy the frustrations endured in fighting this battle. Soon, boredom and repetitveness ensued so I powered off and switched titles. Overall, I think this is an ok title for younger gamers, but older and more experienced gamers should leave this title alone for their younger siblings or family members.
