Hitman: Absolution User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
It is overall a fair game, but me being a huge fan of all the previous Hitman games, I definitely feel like this is not the best of the Hitman series.
The best part of this game is Square Enix making more of a cinematic play-through and making deaths in this game look more realistic compared to the old Hitman games in the past.
Hitman: Absolution was designed to having more of a linear story mode feel, kind of like Max Payne 3, as opposed to being more of a sandbox game, which is definitely a negative for true Hitman fans.
The worst part of the game is the scoring system and the stupid "instincts" element they've added. Here, the only way to use disguises is if you use the instinct you build up in the instincts meter. This is a real pain when you have nearly no instinct, forcing you to go without a disguise for some time in certain levels.
The scoring is little more strict in this one. For example, once your "spotted" you stay at negative 1,500 as compared to the old ones, your score goes back to zero as soon as you kill the guy that spots you. You'll definitely find yourself restarting every 5 minutes when you start playing it if you strive to get a high score.

Aside from a dull AI system, Hitman: Absolution provides hours of fun with a fresh story and the new Contracts mode.
