It's not a bad game, but if the main character wasn't 47, a die-hard hitman fan as myself wouldn't call it hitman...

Let me start of by saying that I have played every single game of the hitman series and I was anticipating the release of this installment ever since I got the first whiff about it. Yet I don't know whether I was disappointed with it, or just that it wasn't what I had expected. Let me start with some cons and pro's

pro's
- good story
- detailed graphics
- great voice acting
- the hardest mode is challenging and leaves the player with almost no help
- It's original
- Contracts is pretty fun

con's
- too much focus on the story not enough on game-play like the previous hitman games were
- too much sneaking around makes you feel more like a spy than a hitman
- Instinct (the ability to see the position of your enemies and to cover yourself up from being spotted) is new and unnecessary.
- the new idea of people spotting you if you walk to close to them in the uniforms is great yet there are some bugs with it.

Overall I would have given this game a better review if it had a better tittle. This was a fairly disappointing installment of the hitman series and it left me feeling more like a licensed to kill spy than a hitman. My first playthrough was on the hardest difficulty of course and I found the lack of hints and help challenging and classic to the hitman gameplay, however I also found that scoring the top score in this game wasn't as fun as just free playing it. In the old games I loved taking out people that were in my way silently. And honestly as a hitman, you should be allowed to do that. In this series continuation you loose a bunch of points for a civilian casualty, now you did loose points for killing civilians in the other games but they didn't push it in your face like ohh you suck, and in the other games there was rarely a necessity to kill someone that was in your way. The fun part was to find a way in, kill and leave undetected by blending in. In this installment there isn't much of that, there is more door to door sneaking around than traditional hitman gameplay. If you are a die hard fan, buy the game but you might be disappointed, some will like the new style some won't, however if you are considering the game, and you aren't a die hard fan of the hitman series, than I highly recommend it, it's a fantastic game, it just isn't really a typical hitman game.
