Carbonated games brings us the sequel to Hexic; a fun challenging mini- title.

User Rating: 7.5 | Hexic 2 X360
The first Hexic game was in pretty much everyone's 360 library from the get co. The original Hexic brought a unique puzzle experience in which you would have to match three octagonal gems of the same color in order to score points. Subsequent combinations of more pieces results in combos. Hexic 2 brings over much of the same action and gameplay from the previous title with more interesting quirks as well.

Hexic 2 brings over the Marathon mode in which you have to rack up points in order to reach the next level; the game will throw several obstacles in your path such as bombs that countdown after every move that you make, and if not disposed of in time will result in a game over. The only difference here from the first is that the action isn't paused after every level up, making the action more fluid. Time and survival modes are also back offering pretty much the same action as in the first game.

The big new addition to the game is the Battle mode which can be played locally with a friend or against the computer, or on xbox live; the battle mode is a fun new mode to the series in which both opponents make combos and use power ups in order to reach victory.

The visuals for Hexic 2 are aesthetically pleasing and much more lively than the first installment. Hexic 2 sports a cool under water theme utilizing much better graphics than the first game. Thats about it in the graphics department, nothing detrimental and nothing too amazing.

In conclusion Hexic 2 offers a much better package than its predecessor, but aside from the spiffy new battle mode and the new visuals Hexic 2 doesn't add anything new to the mix.
