Heist is only 30 minutes long, but it's a solid 30 minutes.

The Good: Intense shooting, looks good, nice era and atmosphere

The Bad: Only 30 minutes long, incomplete, overpriced for a piece of a game

First person shooters are pretty rare on mobile devices, and good ones are even more rare. While Gameloft's Modern Combat and N.O.V.A. series are well-known, they are mediocre at best. Heist is a pretty solid on-rails shooter that is set in 1930's gangster era. You are a newcomer that joins two other men to rob a huge bank. Once you go in the game has a nice cover system, but you can only reload when you are in cover. Make sure you use this often because just a few shots will kill you.

I found myself sucked in and the game was pretty intense. The enemy AI is dumb, however, and just stands there and rarely takes cover. You get a good assortment of weapons such as a Tommy gun, pistol, double-barrel shotgun, and rifle. There's a boss fight in the middle of the level and that's about it. Yes, this game is only 30 minutes long with a cliffhanger "ending". You expect to go on to the next level, but the credits start rolling with a "To be continued..." Why bother putting the game out now and not just wait for it to be all finished? I don't expect to buy a game and only get 30 minutes of play. The game looks pretty decent, but other than that I can't recommend people buying an incomplete game no matter how good it is.

So just hold to your $3 and wait for the full game to become finished, that is if the game ever gets finished. A lot of games tend to just be forgotten (SiN Episodes, Half-Life 2) and never looked at again. Let's just see how far Heist will go, and I'll get back to you later. In the mean time, play something else.
