A revolutionary, visually impressive, eight hour long Quick Time Event...

User Rating: 6.5 | Heavy Rain PS3
I would never recommend a purchase of a movie that costs 60 bucks, nor would I ever recommend a purchase of Heavy Rain. The "game" features quite an interesting story line which at times is actually quite gripping. But at the same time it is very cliche and sports some bad writing here and there. Overall though, the story isn't half bad. The characters are all pretty interesting and likeable. The situations that they are thrown into seem to follow a similar pattern, which get's tiresome by the end of the game.

Gameplay (6/10):
+Interactive movie at it's best
-But I want a game
+Interesting story
+Some of the motions with the analog sticks are quite fun to execute
-Motion control sucks
-Walking controls suck as well

Graphics (9/10):
+Great animation for the most part
+Very realistic
+Art design is great
+Characters are very detailed
-Some choppy framerate and frequent v-sync issues

Sound (9.5/10):
+Amazing score
+Sound effects are top notch
+Most voice acting is good
-Some voice acting is not so good

Value (5/10):
+You get your standard 8 hours
+Somewhat replayable/rewatchable with certain characters dying and others living, etc.
-Only enough content for a rental

My advice is that you rent Heavy Rain if you really want to play through it. I strongly do not recommend buying it. It is an interesting story presented with great music and graphics, so if you liked Indigo Prophecy, then this is definitely something you might want try.
