First time to the series and enjoyed it

This was the first in the series i played, pasted on 1 and 2 as the reviews did say they were hard and when the 3rd came out it was said to be easier for a new comer.

Some basic details of this very detailed game.

The game has a few starting times but the basic idea is pick a country and run it your way before, during and after World War 2.
There are a fair few option open to the player in many departments,
Diplomacy, Production, Technolagy, Politics and Inteligence. All are full of options to help the player steer their country on a desired course but they can be set on Auto to make things a little easier.

The map is great, fully zoomed out you have the world and it has a fog of war that is cleared over the players region and their allies. Zoomed in a bit and the map will show country boarders and countries armies, zoomed in eaven more and regions start shoing in each county then zoomed in a little more and each region has 4-5 sub reagions. Each reagion can be upgraded, options are airfield, industrail, port, fort, coastal fort, anti air, infrastructure, nuclear plant and rocket. All can be bought in one reagion and each can be upgraded from 1 - 10 (i think 10 was the highest)

The on map units have 2 settings, counters or sprites, counters will show a colored square (Color of the player) with the unit strenght and type but sprites will show the actual unit, ie: tanks or infantry.
