Before I get started, let me just say that if you already have Madden 06 or the best of the entire series, Madden 05, I strongly suggest you you rent this game before buying it! Now, for my thoughts on Madden 07, doesn't matter which platform you have, let me start by saying that in all fairness, it does look pretty good, and even though some gamers are excited about the the new block game control & the highlight function for RBs, I honestly feel this hinders the gameplay, as football is a fast game & even when you get the hang of it, most of the time it will work against you. What EA Sports could have done instead, is tweak the AI to block properly in both run plays & passing plays. I'm pretty sure this would have taken less memory, which then with that memory they could have used to improve the game in other areas. Face it, if you are playing a friend or online, they know you are going to use the new running control features, and with a good run blitz or just a good regular blitz, you don't have time to be switching from blocker to runner and the results are usually for a loss, rather than a gain. As for the stupid passing cone, same as in Madden 06, sure you can turn it off, but use a QB that isn't an ace, and you are lucky to spot 1 widereciever, which is usually well covered. Thje new kicking method is awful. Why fix or change something that worked before, and so many people had gotten use to? So, I hope 08 is more promising, because for now, I'm sticking with Madden 05 & just updating my rosters, and if you still have your Xbox, I suggest you do the same. However, if you traded in your Xbox for an Xbox 360, good luck, as I have both & while it looks better on the 360, it has lots more glitches than for the Xbox.
