Headhunter gives players an action game which is worth playing.

User Rating: 8 | Headhunter DC
Headhunter is a adverture action game for the Dreamcast, considered to be one of the last games to be published by Sega, does this game really show off the Dreamcast as a good final fareware bid or should sunk with the Dreamcast?

The main character you play as is named Jade Wade, who having trouble remembering the past and thrown off who old job, with help of other characters in the game, he himself taking on another job and only to find himself in alot more trouble. The story is told in FMV cutscenes and fony news reports as the plot unfolds.

Gameplay: 9

The gameplay is mixed with Third person shooting, Steatlh gameplay inspired from the MGS series and Jack is given a motorcycle to travel from mission to mission in a bit of open world gameplay like seen from Grand Theft Auto. The player can pick up items to help him solve puzzles or combat.

At different moments of the game, the Boss battles offer the biggest challenge of them all, they are worth sitting through and playing and really makes the game worth while to play.

The mix of puzzles, adverture and action in many of the tasks and missions does blend well together and it holds up well for the Dreamcast.

Controls: 8

The controls are simple, pick up and play, moving around is easy and shooting, reloading and changing weapons is a breeze. The menu is easy to navagate, considering all the content of the game, which the player may across.

There a few issues with some of the mechanics to the controls, which adds frusturation to some parts of the game, sometimes Jack will end up having to align himself behind enemies to preform choke moves, which isn't as easy as it looks, poor collusion detection sometimes in the license part of the game can have the player having to start again. This flaw can be over-looked

Graphics: 8

The graphics in this game is really great, everything from character models, city textures to all the items you'll find in the game. Considering this is one of the last Sega Dreamcast games to be released, its really good and deserves a look.

The cutscenes are the downer, as they looks a bit grainy and some many be turned off by the news reporters scenes. There are also some instances were I found the game world a bit uncomplete on some really rare moments in the game, however this doesn't distract too much from the game and many wouldn't notice. Other times, such as the brightly lit city maps, can make riding the motorcycle a bit difficult and some objects, like fences are difficult to see, even in the shortest range.

Sounds: 9

The music fits the games mood well, with classical action theme to keep the tension in the story and gameplay.

The sound are good, fire shots for pistols, explosions for mission launchers and interacting within the game world, such as opening doors, pushing buttons. The sounds are really clear and I find no problems there.

Overall: 8

The game doesn't offer anything new, however it worth playing as the good mix of gameplay elements, challenging gunfights coupe up with good presentation, makes this worth a good Dreamcast title. The game lasts around 10 hours, you wouldn't be let down by the story, I say this is a rental at the most or a buy if you want to add this game to your collection.
