(PC Version) Nice attempt to remake an old game, but 20$ is way too much for what we get.

It is nice sometimes to replay old games, very old games. Unfortunately, the remake of Haunted House does not give us that pleasure.

First of all, the game is plagued with a series of technical problems. Starting the game sometimes fails for no reason. The mouse cursor disappear or become erratic to the point where it is useless.

The only screen resolution available are 4:3. You can however play in a Window if you don't want the inevitable stretching that will occur if you play full screen on a 16:10 monitor.

Once you are in the game, you control your character with the "awsd", you interact with object with the "e" key, you light a match with the left mouse button. I would have at least expected to be able to use a game pad, but I could not find where to set this feature (if it exists at all).

The characters do not respond well to the control and you have to be position correctly to be able to interact with something. This totally ruins the experience. The "awsd" scheme is good for FPS, but definitely not for arcade games.

Graphic has a cartoonish style and is kept to a strict minimum. Cut scenes are presented through still images with some voice over. Voice acting is passable.

Although it may be fun for a while to see what they did to remake a very old game, this one falls short. For 20$, I would expect something much better.

Recommendation, wait until it's sold 0.99$ on steam before buying.
