Slow game, but its worth every penny!

Harvest Moon series is possibly one of the most original genres to hit the video game scene, especially few years back when there were plenty of "FF-clones". It’s a very good chance that you have never played a such-slow paced game like HM, and had fun while playing it. There is no big goals or missions to accomplish, it’s more relaxed and laid back rpg/sim type game. Game play, like I mentioned before, is slow. There is no rush, and it’s just real nice to look at the environments, explore all the items, plant your crops, and many other things you can do in HM. You start out as a simple farmer, and within a few years, you are expected to choose a wife from the nearby town. Game starts out real simple, but as you progress, things get a bit tricky...and that’s when things get real interesting! Graphics and sound in the game is nothing to brag about, since game's main focus is its gameplay. Graphics look plain, and not much of a texture...pretty much looking out dated for today’s gaming. Sound is alright, slow paced...again, nothing to brag about. Characters do not talk, which is a real good thing for an RPG, sound effects are excellent, and there are just thousands of little sound effects through out the town and the game. Again, the game is not about its graphics, but about true gameplay. HM is not for everyone, mainly because it takes a long time to get things going. When things do get going, it’s still slow...and if you never liked Animal Crossings, or the Sims type games, you might pass on this title. For the rest of you, who enjoys a good game, this is definitely worth the buy!
