Long loading every time your character enters/exits a building and blind camera navigation make this a horrible edition.
My second big complaint is the button assignments/sensitivity. What I mean by this is that you have to be in a very precise spot and facing the exact direction to use the action button (for example opening a door or pressing a button on a wall or talking to a neighbor). It is even more difficult when you are trying to catch up to a neighbor to talk with them or give them a gift and they are walking. It sometimes would take several attempts and too much time to get lined up just right to do what I wanted to do. To compare this to the GC version, the buttons in the GC game worked like you'd expect them to: I'd be near a door and the "door" command would appear. I did'nt have to be right ON the door or facing the door directly. It was much easier.
The last complaint I have for this review is that the camera angle was horrific! It's a fixed angle the looks down at the back of your character so that you can't see what's around him. You could be approaching a cliff and you'd be over the edge of it before you even saw it! It's the worst especially at the beginning when you don't know where anything is because you can't look "up" and see what's around you unless you press R2 and go into "1st person mode", but that makes you stay stationary. You can't walk around like that. This is also a disadvantage because you can't look around to see if any neighbors are out 'n about that you can go talk to. I also got really tired of looking at the top of my character's head! Silly, but oh-too-true! To compare this as well to the GC version, in it, you had a basic third-person view. The camera was positioned behind your character and it wasn't fixed. You can use the C-Stick to rotate the camera and look all around you. This afforded you to see the pretty town and everything in it. My advice: buy the GC version. It's marginally less graphic but makes up for it in handfuls with it's ease of use.
