I’d say it lives up to the nostalgia

User Rating: 7 | Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone PC

Pros:

  • Lighthearted fun
  • Learning spells
  • Level design
  • Creative spells and uses
  • Satisfying animations and sound effects
  • Length (Pretty short, maybe 7 hours total, but I wouldn’t have wanted it much longer)

Cons:

  • No strafing, except in boss battles
  • Looking around with the mouse is super fast with no way to slow it down (Mouse slider in menu only controls spell aiming speed)

Nitpickey:

  • Hard to find all the wizard cards, especially on the broomstick levels
  • Pretty easy overall (yeah it was made for kids, but I still would have liked a bit more of a challenge)

Rating:

  • Story ***** 5/10
  • Gameplay ********* 9/10
  • Atmosphere ******* 7/10
  • Overall ******* 7/10
