I think we all know how this is going to go. It's going to be a crap to mediocre game with a great story, much like sparton ops was.

Halo: Spartan Assault lets you take the action with you on Windows 8 devices.
Like we did not have enough gaming platforms to diverge the process of programming games to the expense of poor quality (poor gameplay)
Does anyone actually own a Windows Phone? They should release it on iOS and Android too, like Smartglass
@grey_fox1984 Everyone who has a computer with Windows 8 on it, has a Windows 8 phone.
@grey_fox1984 ihave a windows phone , a lumia 620 .. . but i never play games on my phone LOL , so i will not get this
never in my life did I think I could play Halo on my phone. weird, but cool! doubt i'll buy it :P
@strawberry9 No it does not. How about you actually try it first for more than 5 minutes. Seriously. It's the best OS available right now, but people are hating on it without even trying it I was a hater on it... Now I'm the opposite. I'm an expert on tech and games too. I've used every OS out there and right now. Windows 8 is the king. Sounds totally crazy I bet, but it's really true. I did the math and well I'm sticking with 8 until something better is out there..
@therealone717 @strawberry9 Yes, Windows 8 is fast and great. I personally think that this "return of the start button" is happening too fast - they should give people more time to chill down.
Also, OSX is inconvenient and stupid.
@Snaptrap Like I said.. Love or Hate the new interface; it's still the best in feature sets. As for features, 8 has the most. OSX... I have to disagree with you - power user or not. It's a great OS, but doesn't match abilities with 8. I don't just play games either. I've worked with power programs too. Adobe Suites, all Autocad collections. etc. etc.. To each their own though. OSX is a favorite of mine as well and very solid
@therealone717 As a power user, I think Windows 8 sucks and is in itself extremely cumbersome filled with tons of gimmicky and completely unnecessary access points. It's like they took the most frequently accessed features of Windows 7 and crammed them into a hidden corner for you to find. Unproductive. It's like using Kinect on your desktop PC which I'm sure Microsoft will eventually try force people to use for Windows. OSX is designed for people like myself who WORK with it rather than play games and I can customize it enough to do just that.
@puukusa OSX is a good solid OS but compared to Windows 8 it is Extremely limited in what it can do and how you can customize it and how many programs work on it and most importantly, the limited GAMES for it LOL. When I had to sell my Xbox 360 due to financial hardship, I was kinda down and missing my games, but then I upgraded my video card, installed Windows 8, and now can play about 80% of the games I had for my old Xbox360 and they play great with a 360 controller for Windows!
@puukusa Agree. For gamers: Here is just one of MANY new features Baked into Windows 8. And this is a great one for PC gamers and Discs/ISO's. Disc Mounting - Built into Windows 8- no need to buy software for this feature anymore. Again, this is just one of many new features in Windows 8 that make it the best OS to date on the market. Try it, explore it, run the feature numbers and try and tell me its not the best available. :)
NO I am NOT a Microsoft employee or marketing! I started out as a Windows 8 Hater too but have completely reversed my stance on it.

@therealone717 @strawberry9 Thank you for that, Mr. MS marketing type person..
Don't want to play Halo and I sure as hell don't want Windows 8. Is Microsoft trying to make their company fail?
then don't get it, numbnuts. believe it or not, the consumer market doesn't actually revolve around you.
@CaptainErebus Believe it or not Windows 8 Rocks! for games too. Mine is loaded with old and new games. I was a Windows 8 hater but after using it for months, it is an amazing OS. Won't go back to 7 now. Microsoft should have advertised all the great new features better in it. Features you used to have to BUY separately from other companies, now built into Windows flawlessly. PEOPLE: Do not believe the negative haters on Windows 8 (I was one formerly) Windows 8 is the best, people just don't like big changes until they figure out how to use them LOL. It's a good OS even though they dropped Media Center which really pissed me off, but all the new features more than make up for it. And no, I'm not going to list all the new features. Not my job. Do your own research foks
I'm not sure who the director of marketing is over at Microsoft, but he/she needs an exit out of the company. Microsoft is consistently shooting itself in the foot. The Halo franchise would have sold millions, if not tens of millions on the PC as well as the Xbox. They brought Halo2 to Vista, but didn't support any other platform of Windows. Now they're releasing this on Win8 with no other support for any other Windows platforms. Why? It's not like the PC generation has really enjoyed the Halo franchise except on the Xbox. Why now? And this game? I understand Microsoft wants Xbox to be profitable, but HEY YOU GUYS, you make a Windows OS as well, you know? That BILLIONS of people use everyday. That's 100% more people than own an Xbox. So, they're sitting in their big comfy leather chairs and thinking, "Hey, we should release another Halo game on our newest OS that maybe 10% of the population has upgraded to. Yeah, that's the ticket. Then the rest of the population will see we have a new Halo game for Win8 and EVERYONE will upgrade!" Hey, Microsoft......nevermind, you won't get it.
Definitely should be an XBLA title too. Honeslty would have been awesome on the 3DS (they were going to make that Halo game a long time ago for the DS lol) But yeah, I don't have Windows 8 and I don't have a windows phone so I guess I'll have to "#dealwithit" and spend my money elsewhere.
Also short release time, so that's pretty cool. The game doesn't look too bad either. We'll see though.
@Oozyrat They don't want to release it on the Xbox, because they know that Xboxers will be the ones most likely to want to play it. So they will be more likely to buy a MS phone now in order to have it.
MS has always treated their customers as slaves. Squeezing every drop out of them as possible.
Looks like Halo Wars, but with less units. A crappy game made worse, then intentionally hobbled in order to sell a new platform. Just what we've all always wanted!
@Darnytoads Kinda sad, if this game is the only reason why you would purchase Windows 8.
This is crap,Iwould like to play halo series but do not posess x-box and now its windows 8 exclusive, what a bunch of assholes...
I don't know what's more annoying, the fact that it's only on Windows mobile or Windows 8. Such a kick in the nuts.
Won't be brilliant, but at least it'll give me another game to add to my Windows 8 apps!
Meh, this will be mediocre game and it only purpose is to lure ppl's to buy shitty tablets.
For me thx, i wait more for something on PC.
@blue_shift_91 @julzeverne @badlalo59 @jenson419 No it didn't. It was just the first FPS to work right for your little consoles.
kids...
@julzeverne @badlalo59 @jenson419
the original halo set a new standard for FPSs, genius. learn to read the news.
Would have been nice if they had experimented with a fun new ip, instead re-working 'Halo'. Not sure how this will go down for Halo fans, or how this will affect the reclaimer trilogy.
@radikel Nobody is going to buy/upgrade Windows 8 to try a new IP. If I owned a W8 running PC I would take this as MS sincerest apology for pushing a tablet oriented OS onto desktops everywhere.
@TacticaI it would take an awful lot more than a crappy version of a crappy game to apologise for the debacle that is windows 8
@qewretrytuyiuoi @TacticaI Lol I'm just saying I couldn't blame a W8 user if they felt like this was owed to them.
