What we have come to expect with Halo, though it takes little risk it is a solid game that should keep you entertained.

Regardless of what I say you have probably already bought Halo Reach and if not you can find it for relatively cheap these days.
Halo Reach is what we have come to expect with the series, though it sticks close to it's roots it has a very solid foundation and is the best in the series.

Halo Reach is a prequel staring the faceless protagonist Noble Six alongside his squad consisting of 5 other Spartans, a first for the series. These characters are all unique however the story of Reach revolves more around the destruction of the planet more so than your squad. The voice acting is believable and the script is solid however I found these Spartans to be shallow, if you never read the books you wouldn't even know that you are a Spartan III.

The campaign is okay, it tries to tell a tragic story but falls short. There is little to no civilians on Reach and the destruction of the planet doesn't seem to be all that noticeable until the very end of the game.

Gameplay is solid throughout.

Though the campiagn is one of the weakest in the series it is the multiplayer that will have you coming back for more. There is bound to be something for you here as the MP features dozens of gametypes, customization options, preferences, everything. It again is your classic Halo affair but with some amour abilities which act like the equipment in Halo 3. There is also Forge World which has come a long way but I feel there is not much variety as everything has a silver forerunner look to it.

Halo Reach sticks closely with it's predecessor, but the formula has some very deep roots and it is a solid game, one that is worth having part of your collection.
