Video Game History Month: Halo (Xbox)

I started out with Halo 3...started the campaign just because, and got sucked in. Then I was off to multiplayer and that was even more engaging. Good times.

It's strange why they didn't use any of those maps they made there in the RTS one in Halo: CE. I think it would be quite cool to be in that camp and there is something valuable to the covenant there and they send a lot of troops and armor but you could defend it with those tanks and around 30 marines aiding you.

Halo multiplayer actually blows to me.

bungie you let me down, i mean seriosly whats up with this they make halo and halo2 for pc but why not 3? or odst? or reach man, i remember in third grade (yes im actually 10) my frinds saying to me "oh my god dude odst is coming out we could do online multiplayer together it's gonna be great!" but then id say i dont have a 360 sorry i was never so p.o.'d (p*****d off) then i got halo for pc i loved it then halo2 loved it too found out halo 3 wasn't for pc p.o.'d again i just wich bingie would com to there senses and make halo3,odst and reach for pc:(

greatest series ever created in my mind and no other shooter series is like it. Halo is the reason for most of the Xbox's success and is the heart and soul of microsoft. every game had something new and fun and now Bungie can walk away from the series proud after launching Reach. I'm looking forward to the future of halo and thank bungie so much for this incredible franchise and for defining FPS games as we know it. HALO FTW :D

Sometimes I think the xbox 360 controller was designed for halo.

@Hedgehogpickle - Actually even now that Bungie is no longer part of Microsoft and are working with Activision they still couldn't bring Halo over to Playstation, simply because the actual Halo property is owned by Microsoft.. sorry man :( But hey it's Bungie so they might make a new IP for Playstation that's just as good or even better than Halo is, so keep your eyes open for whatever they do next.

@luck149 You cant. Original Xbox servers went down in April. Get the pc version, cause that still works.

The game (Combat evolved) brings back so many memories of my first co-op matches on the XBOX.

Halo is easily the best first- person shooters on the xbox, and i was glad to learn a bit about more about the series that i didnt know through this video.

Master chief isnt a cyborg. Why do so many people think he is? Hes just a guy with physical enhancements to his muscles and stuff. Nothing robotic about him.

This franchise is simply awesome. But i have to admit that i dont have live or odst so for me the shine wore off. But i can remember CE system linked with people crammed in basement with 4 of the biggest tvs we could find and 4 xboxs linked. Now those were good times if you ask me.

Let me just say i am a huge fan of the Halo franchise, from the first time i played Halo i was hooked. The story is superb in my opinion, due to the large cannon that exists and the large amount that we still don't know about the forerunners and other parts of the story. The books just add to it and make it even better by reveling gaps between games and answering questions and as the video says the multiplayer is definitely one of Halo's strong points. In my opinion it is better than MW2's, but somebody will immediately come and contradict me on that one, so to each his own taste. Forge world is going to be another great addition to Halo Reach and has made me even more excited about it and happy that I pre-ordered it.

@IonBlaster4 yes that is why people play cod; to unlock, not even for the fun of the game. Jamesbond games and halo were the best. it was for the fun of gameplay.

Man I remember the LAN parties we had back in the CE days. Had half the neighborhood in our house for those. 4 people crammed onto each TV. Most of them were small and old back then. Those TVs are ancient now. Had to set it all up in the basement. It was the only room in the old house that could hold the whole setup and crowd of people...

I have a PS3 and think it could kick the 360's a$$ almost any day, the only day it couldnt would be if you brought out halo, thats just my opinion

I'm sad that after Reach, Bungie will no longer be apart of the Halo franchise. Halo made the Xbox what it is today and Bungie deserves the credit.
