Halo: Combat Evolved was made in 2001 by bungie as a launch game for the original Xbox, and has bloomed to be the greatest Xbox exclusive ever, and one of the greatest and most revolutionary First-Person Shooters ever.

Halo: Combat Evolved was one of the original console shooters, and the very first one on Xbox, releasing the same day as the original Xbox release day. The graphics for Halo: Combat Evolved are not up to today's HD standards, but for 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved had some of the greatest graphics of any game on the market at that time. The controls of Halo: CE revolutionized FPS controls on consoles, and are great. The main characters of Halo: Combat Evolved are, John 117 the Master Chief, and Cortana. Master Chief is the quiet, walking tank, while Cortana is the A.I inside Chief's head that gives him intel. The story of Halo: CE takes place on Earth 500 years in the future, after the planet Reach falls to the alien group known as the Covenant, where Master Chief awakes from Cryo-Sleep, on the "pillar of autumn", which has been invaded by Covenants. After fighting through Covies Master Chief makes it to a escape pod and crash lands on the Halo ring. After rescuing Captain Keyes on the ring, Keyes orders Master Chief to beat the Covenant to Halo's control center. Master Chief along with a forerunner 343 guilty spark are about to activate Halo, when Cortana re-appears, and warns Master Chief that Halo would destroy all life in the galaxy, and Chief and Cortana, decide to destroy Halo, and the best way to do so is to self-destruct the crased Pillar of autumn, which requires Keyes authorization, when Chief reaches Keyes, he has been infected by flood to the point of no return, Chief takes the neural implant directly from Keyes brain, and activates the countdown on the ship. However 343 guilty spark cancels the countdown, and Chief only narrowly survives Halo's explosion.
