Check out a developer walkthrough video for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary featuring campaign gameplay.
I have Halo 1 memorized like the back of my hand. I could beat it on legendary blindfolded without dying once. It's like riding a bike really, once you get it down, it always sticks. I will be judging this game incredibly harshly. I know all the glitches, all the enemies, how many are where, and what every level looked like. The Library is my favorite level to play alone on legendary. I will decide how close this is to the original and so far....it looks AWESOME!!!
the melee attacks so smooth
@theJBlounge I mean with Reach I actually saw a little promise in that but yeah ODST was a little weak in my opinion it felt like filler more than anything and now with Halo HD it's even clearer they're trying to cash it in before the next trilogy starts. At least we still get Halo 4 which I'm excited about but I can't really be bothered with replaying the first game. I still have such a huge backlog and there's plenty of great games coming out soon that I need to get my hands on. See you on Halo 4 I guess lol.
@wwervin Yeah I think we're the only ones here that think it's overpriced. I was really disappointed to find out it's Halo 1 with a coat of paint on top. I originally thought it was a reimagining of Halo 1 with better level design. Maybe some things in newer Halo's like dual weapons and the removal of health/med packs. I'm not a diehard Halo fan, but with ODST, Reach, and now Anniversary, are they Activision'ing the brand name a little?
@theJBlounge well at least there's that.. but you're right it's still overpriced. I can get a lot of fairly recent games (both new and used) at 40$ that I would much rather play instead of reliving Halo with updated graphics.
@wwervin It's $40 but that's still about $30 more than I'd be willing to spend.
The original was awesome and was in my book the game that brought FPS to the console in large numbers. We had some many LAN parties, was a fun time and i definitely want to play it again, 10 years later with the updated graphics, with firefight and MP crossover with Reach. This was the best FPS at the time, the other standouts on console was Goldeneye, Turok and Perfect Dark. Love to see an updated version of the original Turok and I think from memory, Turok (2) Seeds of evil
This is the game that convinced a lot of people that you could have a fun FPS experience on the console? I love Halo: CE and feel like it was definitely an amazing experience long ago.. But did any of those people ever play RARE's Goldeneye or Perfect Dark? Hello?
Jesus Christ... This guy honestly needs to take a breather and allow us to enjoy the bloody video. He ran out of things to say within the first 2 minutes which are; 1) This game looks fantastic, it looks great, just beautiful, etc 2) It is the exact same game with new graphics that just look fantastic. I don't need to hear you repeat yourself 10 times over, at least shut up in between what your saying... I think he just loves to hear himself talk the jackass.
@NARUtotheFISH no problemo. I'm probably not going to get Halo HD or whatever they call it but I'll most likely be on Halo 4 like a beast when that's out. I like the game, I just don't see the point in spending 60$ on a game I've already purchased 10 years ago.
@wwervin sorry dude i read your comment to fast and i thought you were saying something else that's why i commented i usually don't comment on vids..... and i commented because i thought you were trying to say something bad about the game. no hard feelings man we're cool. :D
@NARUtotheFISH I'm not judging the game before it's out, this game has been out for 10 years already. And that wasn't just my attempt at a bad joke. It really is the same game. Don't get me wrong, I liked the original Halo. I thought it was a great game. But for them to remake the same game with updated graphics is a little bit of an easy cash in if you ask me. Secondly, why can't I comment on this? I have an opinion just as you do, and just as the next guy does. I'm not bashing anyone and I haven't bashed the game, I'm just saying what most of the people here are thinking. I think you're the one who's taking this all personally and your comment attributed nothing to this topic except to flame me. So let me ask you, why do you even comment on this?
@wwervin don't freaking judge games before they come out plz whyyyy do you even comment on this
Awesome, these guys love what they're doing and that gives life to it.
@SWrebelAlliance Agree and disagree there. I mean, I agree that better AI would be neat, but then I realize that the game would be fundamentally offered if they did that. That's a patch, not an update. To change the AI is to say that the original AI was wrong, and to do that is to take away a big piece of the game. Would it really be the same game if the combat situations went down so differently?
where were the Huntaaarrrss?
I'm not sure I agree with the decision to put classic mode in. Now they've layered a nice graphics engine over old AI, particle effects, etc. I think I would've sacrificed classic mode for the more developed AI from Reach.
i completed reach a while ago, but when this comes out im gonna play it again back to back with this, seeing as the last cutscene is exactly the same as the intro to this game
the graphics look insane! now they just need to reboot halo 2 and i'll be set
Yeah.. this game was great 10 years ago when I first played it.. but would I want to basically buy the same game and play through it again just for nostalgia? I love what they've done with the graphics but that's not even near my biggest concern in games. To me it just feels like this was a cheap and easy way for them to make some quick cash by pretty much taking the same game and tweaking its graphics. I think I'd rather wait for Halo 4 instead.
This game pretty much appeals to nostalgia.. I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but the sheer amount of the game riding on nostalgia is a little odd. Hopefully they didn't carry the old glitches and issues from the first game over as well ;)
I would be more excited if I am more susceptible to nostalgia.
So will everybody play as 117 in co-op?
I just noticed that the assault rifle for the HD part looks almost exactly like the Reach rifle.
to tell the truth i wish it was a halo 2 remake but i guess this is about just as good
Glad they're not charging fans a full nut kicking $60 bucks. Can't wait to dive into classic multiplayer. The water ooooooh, check out the waaaaaaaaater! dude www.dudegamer.com
@jasonzilla11 They're making a new Wolfenstein? I didn't hear that.
good memories..... hope they don't charge full price for the game though, seeing as I've technically played it already
I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. I've wanted a CE remake ever since the 360 was released. Thanks to Microsoft and 343 for doing it. Halo 2 next?
its good they havent completely revamped the gameplay but I would have liked to see some of the weapons and vechiles from reach find their way into the game (with apropriate balancing of course) I mean the back grounds Ive read about them suggest they had been in service for a little while already so the idea that they are no where to be seen a month or so after the battle confuses me :S Thats part of the advantage of a remake like this you can update it to fit in with new cannon surely
Back then it came for pc... only one qeustion.. why not now??
This game brings back great memories.
How many years ago?
THE REAL KING OF FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS IS BACK!
How many years ago did this originally come out? But in all seriousness, can't wait for this.
You can definitely that isn't Bungie's water - the level of water detail and effects don't come anywhere near what Bungie had in Halo 3 and Reach. I do love the retro mode, its a great feature.
Bring back ways to much good old memories.
How many times does this guy have to remind us that Halo 1 came out 10 years ago? We get it, dude.
November 15th will be the day that I shall relive my younger days. *sigh* I miss those days.
Cuando saldra para Pc...???

I just finally sat down and beat Halo: Reach. Great game BTW. Seeing this makes me wanna re-live the whole experience again by picking this up and playing through H1, H2, and H3. Nice job guys!
This game is an epic nostalgia overload! Hardcore fans of the series will notice all the changes, even the little ones! But what's even better is that they've kept the game faithful to the original and what made it so good. A recent poll revealed that Halo Reach was voted the best Halo of all. But for me, NOTHING can compare to the greatness of the original!
I absolutely CANNOT wait for this. My only problem is the look of the Assault Rifle, because I don't like the new look of it that they used in Reach as much as the Halo 3 design. Overall looks beautiful though!
Sorry - how many years ago?
This makes me feel better about this studio taking over Halo. Looks good.
it'd*.
I'd be nice if they released it for PC..
Looks nice. November will be a good month.
can't wait to see the flood in this
