It is sandbox for an FPS, games like CoD, Fear, and others are far less sandbox than Halo is so before you get a your panties in a twist you might want to think about it.
@David_Boreanaz you might want to think about the fack that the only sandbox levels are those that allow you to drive around with the warthog, like the first level in reach, outside of these kinds of levels where you can choose your patch, halo game are exactly like cod in the sence that everything is scripted and the same thing happens after each playthrough, there is no dynamic world doing its own thing, like in gta. Halo games are not sandbox: i looked up the deffinition before i commented the first time. sandbox=open world. Very few levels can be deffined as this outside of say ( the silent cartographer) which is sandbox. having a level per game that is doesnt qualify the entire game as sandbox. Occonor uses the term too looselly. you may want to think about it, again!
@Muyypotpie people reply to one another not because its that big of a deal like you implie, but because they want to make their point heard. you know you could replie is it that big of a deal to absollutely anything happening in your life, or conversation and that wouldint really prove fruitfull now would it?
dont care how he means sandbox: dishonored will be the pure definition of sandbox or hitman absolution. he uses the term to loosely just to look intelligent . he should know better! according to this deffinition all games could now qualify as sandbox and thats just not the case!
@vaillant085 They aren't using "sandbox" in the sense that it means "open world" though, they are using it in the sense that it has been used in every Halo game in the past in that it offers many different tools to allow different playstyles to complete a mission in different ways ("ways" in the sense that sitting back and picking people off is a way, and running in with your guns blazing and spamming nades is another way, or perhaps you could speed-run it, or use a jetpack to bypass a whole section of enemies, etc.; not different outcomes). This would mean that games such as Splinter Cell: Blacklist (set up to be completable in different ways by each of the "Action", "Panther" and "Ghost" playstyles) are also "sandbox" games in this sense whereas heavily scripted games such as CoD are much less so (though I remember seeing that you could choose to provide covering sniper fire or to personally escort the president in the E3 demo, so perhaps it will be more "sandbox" in Black Ops 2).
@Vaultboy-101 Are you VaultBoyUA from youtube lol? I just watched one of his videos.
I only care about multiplayer with any game. Games are expensive and Single player simply doesn't provide the longevity multiplayer provides. Single player to games can be awesome like Skyrim but it's still pretty lonely to me. That's just my opinion. I know most people care most about the Story in most games.
