Who out there still thinks Halo CE multiplayer is still the best?

Its classic. The main reason to me everyone thought halo 2 had the best mp because it was finally online. When i played Halo 2 i was so disappointed that it was completely different than halo 1 style but i still liked it because i got nasty at it and played it with my friends? big ting ting

count me in.
Halo 2's design 'style' was not nearly as alien as the firsts, and I did not like that so much. Even the most human-themed maps in Halo 1 had the sci-fi elements like Boarding action, set in space!
That aside, Halo 1's lack of xbox live lets it down when Halo 2 had full online capabilities up until last year.
I still enjoy 3 and Reach, but if Halo 1 had xbox live it would be a generation apart with its multiplayer.

I am torn between this...
Here's what I think:
Yes, in theory, Halo CEs multiplayer was better IMO. The problem is that I had more fun with Halo 2s multiplayer because XBL > XBC. IF Halo CE had Xbox Live and a larger community than I'm sure the experience would have been better. Halo 2 just had a larger community and more things to do with Xbox Live (like MM and rankings), making the experience more memorable for me.
So I really don't know which I like better. But both were better than H3/HR.

Am I late? I also agree that the CE multiplayer is still the best. BUT IMO Reach's is close up there. Mainly because of the armor abilities and just the balance of the weapons. Also the useless but flashy executions (little guilty pleasure).

Not I, it had the best maps, but I did not like the gameplay in CE.

dont get me wrong but flying a warthog and shooting double rockets is so damn fun but i think we are talking about an xbox live point of view like competition wise

I was late to the Halo 2 multiplayer so I'm a bit biased.
However, I will say I loved Halo 1 on the PC, especially because the PC-exclusive maps were fantastic imo.

CE is the better game for sure, but I had better times on H2 for sure just because of Live.

I really enjoyed the lul moments Halo 2 had with hijacking. If Halo 1 had Xbox Live I may or may not have liked it more. Though at the time I was like 7 or 8 when I bought CE. Right now, I think Halo 2 is the best

Ill be honest here, CE was my favorite for sure because of split screen/ lan. But I hated XBC. At least playing off host. The net code was terrible.
I know there were players that enjoyed getting a feel for leading your shots 8+ feet on bad hosts, it was definitely an interesting skill and pretty awesome to watch in action... but it also had a ton of randomness and I couldnt stand it.
If CE had a decent net code and XBL it would have been the ultimate game imo.

Yea but assume there was no such thing as XBC because it was only made for games that didnt support live before live came out. Hence the reason XBC is a ghetto XBL
