Yeah this is all great but still no online matchmaking for Campaign coop and you can only play the latest Spartan Ops online before the newest Episodes are released, otherwise you have to play solo or invite friends.

My advice: Fix those first then give me all this pretentious garbage afterwards

The second half of spartan ops is much better then the first half, with the new environments.

It's Cortana btw. Anyways, the Spartan Ops idea is revolutionary and is going very well so far. Myself as well as many friends anticipate the next episode's release so we can see more of the story.

@xRownan I've only recently started playing through the Spartan Ops missions and I have to say I am definitely interested in the story line but the missions themselves don't seem compelling.  Although I must admit I've watched all the cinematics that have been released but I've only played through the first four sets of OPS.

LOL yeah, they would lose their whole market to LINUX. Good one dude, that will never ever happen.

I want to express a few thoughts about Halo.I've played the last halo game, since I've played the very first one back in the days, which by the way was revolutionary . In my opinion the progress that was made is very little. Anyway to the last game. The graphics are extraordinary and save the day so does the great script of the chief and kirtana.Other than that the opponents are for laughs especially those midgets with the tutti-fruiti shield. The game has great potential the characters need better design. I don't know it's like the salt and pepper is missing.

I don't mind the spartan ops. They are good for those looking for some good old 4 player co-op fun with a campaign element to it and some cool episodes to watch. Once they have brough out enough episodes it will be like watching a halo movie if you play them all at once. Some people just really love to complain don't they. What's wrong with getting 2 campaigns to play through. You get more content and still they complain.

Really, the story is so ordinary, so generic for the game, I simply don't see the episodic content as anything but an accentuation of a weak point in the game, so I am actually less impressed with the game, and even a bit disappointed since it seems nothing more than a weak attempt to move in on Star Wars 1313's success.

can't figure out why they're making this spartan ops thing a big deal. They release new episodes every once in a while and you play them...

@btstlouis Its expanding the game. You are getting more content for your $$$. They are continuing to add new content without the charge. They could draw this out until Halo 5 come out and it will still only cost $60 just to get the game

@kgish475 @btstlouis lol to be more specific, you are getting more content for your $$$ payed towards a Gold LIVE account XD This "free" content is inaccessible otherwise...which is kind of bull

@whackyq @kgish475 @btstlouis Either way, 343 is doing more per dollar than any other gaming studio; and that should mean something. You think all these companies charging 60$ plus more $$$ for in game content are really turning that much of a profit? As gamer's it is our duty to show our support for the few companies that are taking losses to give gamer's what they want..343's first game was great for a first game by a studio(I realize they're all mostly experienced and had prior Halo experience as well).. Do you want to lose them already? Do you want them to HAVE to turn into a "mainstream" company that does everything to stay out of the red? They're broadcasting what they're doing, because to the intelligent masses, the message isn't just, "have this awesome free content" it's "hey we scratch your back,  could you scratch ours so we can make bomb games for the next gen without blowing budgets and having to sell games before they're finished".

Having tried out a couple of these episodes, and honestly, they're irrelevant to me. I hope they'll find a niche of players, but for me, these are just a couple of horde-mode missions with little context. I'd rather replay the single player instead.

Really like what they did with the latest episodes, the level design is vastly improved and the pace is more balanced. I even felt a little nostalgia from h1 and h2 days. Good job 343.

From my friends who have played Halo 4, I hear spartan ops is basically gears of war horder that must be downloaded. Great new innovation, they simply took a concept from one game, made it worse by having to constantly update, and its some how changing the future of halo. Can multiplayer just die out.

smackdowner360

Halo 4 is a masterpiece no doubt. The only thing that's hurts it is all the modded controller's in multiplayer.Something has to be done with these modded people who suck so bad they need to cheat.Microsoft neeeds to do like rockstar with max payne. The cheat system if you have a modded controller your kicked from the game and put in a lobby by yourself or with other modded people. How freakin hard is it MS?Time to step up and fix this problem

I've found that neither the Halo: Infinity shorts nor the Spartan Ops missions were all that appealing.  The skits aren't enough to flesh out the story, and the gameplay missions are dull as all hell.  I'd rather they focus on deepening the mulitplayer and making an awesome Halo 5.

I really enjoyed Spartan Ops. I hope they keep doing more Seasons (as long as its reasonably priced). While I think the story telling got much better in the second half of the season, I think the map choices are kind of a down grade though, there much smaller and confined (I do enjoy the more openness of the missions though). The maps feel more like a corridor crawl and don't really lend themselves to the hard difficulty they adopted. They need to make more missions like Shoot Out at Valhalla or The Didact's Gift. Probably the best missions they've done so far.

Unlike some of the other games from last fall, I keep going back to Halo 4, because of Spartan Ops. At first it felt like a simple time waster or just "another mode," but now the story is starting to get really good. They've surprised me, so congrats 343. Keep it up.

I like Spartan Ops, it's something different. Like they said they're breaking new ground with this, trying something different which is something Halo has pretty much done from the beginning. It's not gonna be perfect at the beginning, it takes time. If you're willing to tough it out and see what happens good on ya, you wanna jump ship now? Goodbye, I won't miss you. If anything my main complaint is with the lag I get.

Given the story of Halo 4, I'm not surprised at the lacking content in Spartan Ops...

As someone who was extremely disappointed with the first five episodes of Spartan Ops, I really enjoyed what they did for the past two weeks. Episode 6 was actually fun, and 7 has been the best episode yet by far. I actually felt like I was adding something to the story, that my actions mattered, with episode 7. Looking forward to what they do in the future.

That said, I would also like a Firefight mode at some point.

@bmart970 i think both modes have a place in halo 4, so i don't know why they got rid of it.

I thinks Spartan Ops is awesome! It is a great way to progress the story and keep the game fresh. Furthermore, it is a good companion to multiplayer. I don't doubt there will be a season two and possibly a three before the release of Halo 5. 343 would be wise to introduce the Arbiter in at least an appearance role to maybe whip the Elite sect into shape; and obviously an appearance of the Chief and missions playing along side Fire-team Majestic would be amazing!

I like Spartan Ops; but I do miss firefight.  A fire fight in Halo 4 would have been boss.  Good thing I still got Reach.

Its good to see so many people enjoying this but I sadly did not find Spartan Ops very "fun". It was a bit mindless and very recycled...and playing with random people online just gets chaotic and repetitive (much better if you play with your friends). They really shouldn't have gotten rid of firefight, especially since Spartan Ops IS NOT FREE, its free only if you have a Gold account, and keep it since you're playing with online people. Sorry, no offline mode for spartan ops here...

The only good thing I can say about Spartan Ops is FEMSHEP, anything with femshep in it is awsome.

If Chief and/or Cortana makes a cameo, everything is forgiven haha...the story right now is, alright.

I'm happy with what they're doing. Replayability is what keeps people playing the game. Yes, the lines may become a bit cheesy, and the environments just slightly altered from the multiplayer maps, but who wants to complete their commendations by doing the same thing over and over again. ad nauseum. The commendations was a great idea. And Spartan Ops are far better, in my opinion, than the failed attempt of Halo 3: ODST's , and Reach's Firefight. This is not Bungie, and that is not bad. The story for Halo 4 is leagues better than that of Halo 3. 343 Industries knows what they're doing.

sleepnsurf

I like Spartan Ops and the new Halo is pretty darn good considering Reach. Best Sci Fi FPS on the market for either system.

The first level didn't really drag me in tbh, ill give it a go at a later time just done legendry and burnt out & raging M$ auto renewed my gold subscription /raging, was gonna ebay my entire collection and turn into a sony fanboy, now I'm not so sure.

To turn to the dark side or not, that is the question ...
