Halo 3 is just like the other Halo games just with marginally better graphics.

I wounder how these game critic websites like Gamespot, IGN, and 1up came up with these inflated scores... Halo 3 is a good game but it's far from God's gift to gamers which is what these websites would lead you to believe. The gameplay in Halo 3 is just like the other Halo games which is kinda disappointing cause by the third game in the franchise the exact same gameplay is getting very stale. There's allot of action throughout the game and if it wasn't the exact same formula in both of the other Halo games it would be fun. Since Halo 3's gameplay is practically identical to previous Halo games people who have played the first two Halo's might get bored because they've done all this before. Game critic websites criticized Resistance: FOM for not being revolutionary but it seems Halo 3 and Halo 2 for that matter has gotten a free pass in this regard. When it comes to graphics Halo 3 is very disappointing. The textures in this game are marginally better than Halo 2 however the lighting in Halo 3 is very good and the lighting is the biggest improvement in my opinion. Also this game has tons of jaggies, I don't really mind jaggies but in Halo 3 the jaggies are really bad and very noticeable which in my opinion is inexcusable for a "next gen" game.

Sound effects and music in Halo 3 is pretty good however some of the voice acting isn't very good, however I've heard allot worse voice acting in a game (Shenmue) so it's not that bad.

When it comes to the story I have to say once again I'm disappointed just like with Halo 2. The story isn't very interesting and at times it's downright boring and confusing. The ending is kinda anticlimactic after all the hoopla and hype about "finishing the fight".

Overall I would say Halo 3 is a good game but the gameplay is getting very stale in my opinion and if there is a Halo 4 I hope they overhaul some things and at least try and keep this game fresh. In the end for people who have played Halo 1 & 2 Halo 3's gameplay and story will seem boring and uninteresting throughout most of the game. And for those who aren't Halo fans and wounder what all the hoopla is about Halo 3 wont make any new fans out of these poeple due to the fact that it's the same as the other Halo games.
