If you like walking around a lifeless dark city with 5 enemies between missions and horrible dialogue this is for you.

What was Bungie thinking when they put you in this boring lifeless dark city with 5 enemies that always respawn in the same places. Maybe they thought it would be film noire style with the cheesy old music. Whatever they thought the execution was horrible. The missions themselves are actually not that bad but the game forces you back into this drab lifeless mess of a city between missions. There is nothing to do in this city... there is like 5 enemies that always respawn in the same place. What kind of gameplay mechanic is finding beacons? It's shallow and pointless it makes me feel like I'm playing a game from 1996. You can't interact with anything in the city, there is nothing to do there. All you want to do when your there is get to your next mission. After figuring out how to work the horrible map after a while you understand how to get yourself around. The whole time your walking from beacon to beacon all you can think of is I need a mongoose. If bungie just focused on making missions instead of this useless piece of crap for a city maybe I would of liked the game better. The only problem is that if they removed the useless wandering the game would only take about an hour and a half max. I beat the game in three hours (mind you I'm a Halo vet). I don't believe in giving this game extra points because it includes the Halo 3 multiplayer either. Everyone who wanted Halo 3 already has it. This game should have been a DLC like Bungie intended to. It's not worth the price of admission. I enjoyed the improved A.I. and the greater amount of enemies in the missions but there was just not enough of it. The parts that were fun where you were able to snipe at tons of enemies were few and far between. Most of the game is spent alone walking around and wondering why you bought this game in the first place and how could gamespot actually score this overhyped piece of crap a 9.0. This is coming from a diehard halo fan with thousands and thousands of online matches. I'm trading this game in... only Halo game I ever traded in. That says something.
