A game that explains what happened between Halo 2 and Halo 3

The Halo saga seemed to each game evolve more and more in quality, and really was up to Halo 3, but then came Halo 3: ODST which in my opinion is the worst of the saga (I did not play the Halo Wars, because I Not liking their style games), I found it interesting to do a game that goes between Halo 2 and Halo 3, and the plot is a strong point, but sins in moments, there are moments that I found unnecessary, some dialogues are annoying , The game is a little repetitive, the graphics did not evolve so much in relation to Halo 3, okay that is a Spin-off, but I did not like the game very much.
