Halo 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games of all time because the original was so revolutionary and just fun to play. The sequel lives up to the high bar set by the original and if you can look past a few rough edges and some minor problems, you'll find that Halo 2 is a truly great game. Gameplay - Perfect. It's an experience that feels like the original but with improvements all around. With additions such as duel wielding and boarding, the game feels and plays excellent and is rarely a nuisance. Graphics - In-game graphics look really good especially particle effects like the plasma rounds from a ghost or a banshee etc. The cutscene graphics fail pretty miserably however. They jump from really low-res to high-res at the beginning of most cutscenes and sometimes when the scene changes. it's very noticeable and for me, it was the biggest problem with the game. Sound - Love it. The soundtrack stays true to the original Halo and I can't get enough of the live orchestra music that accompanies the game. Sound effects are unique and pretty good for the most part but certain guns like the SMG just don't sound like you would imagine they would... Value - The single player game is pretty short and the cliffhanger ended turned a lot of people off but I, for one really enjoyed the story. It expands so much on the original story and lets you experience the conflict from the perspective of both sides of the war which is pretty innovative. The multiplayer really saves the replay value of the game mostly because it's ridiculously fun. Bungie went out of their way to really make the multiplayer experience as fun when playing online with your friends as if they were right in the same room as you. Halo 2 is one of the better games I've ever played and I'm really looking forward to the next installment in the series mainly to see the story's conclusion. I highly recommend this game especially to anyone who played and like the original Halo.
