This sequel to Halo is done very good, dispite it's rather bad plot. Everything from the new weapons to the new to levels is great. The Campaign lets you play as both Master Cheif and Arebiter (A Elite who failed to keep the first Halo from being destroyed by Master Cheif). Halo 2 is 10 times the size of Halo. The only let down to the game is the rather bad ending.
The Campaign mode lets you pick up where Halo left off. There are 15 levels in all and all of which are action packed. You actually play two stories in one game and in the end both stories come together. You first play as Master Cheif fighting the covenant. A couple levels later you play as Arebiter. There is also a lot cut scenes. The whole game took me about 6 and a half to 7 hours to complete on normal difficulty.
The multiplayer is the best part of this game. Now having what Halo lacked (Xbox Live) this makes Halo 2 the best game for Live out there. You can have up too 16 people playing each other on a single level. Another new feature allows to have clans in which you can join to compete against other clans. A lot of clans have their own websites where they can talk about strategies and other Halo 2 related things. There are many great multiplayer levels. Some levels are better if played with a small amount of people and some levels are better played with a large amount of people. The are a lot of levels that support vehicles.
All the weapons in the game have been tweaked. For instance the pistol is no longer a really powerful weapon and it doesn't zoom anymore, and just the opposite for the for the Assault Rifle which is now called the Battle Rifle. The battle rifle is more powerful then the assault rifle and fires in three shot burst. The battle rifle has a zoom feature that lets you get an easier aim on your opponent. Clip size for the battle rifle is 36 rds. The sniper is almost exactly the same as before. Only change on it is the look. The SMG is a rapid firing sub machine gun thats only accurate in close quarters. Dual wielding two of these bullet hoses provides a deadly weapons in close range. The shotgun is basically the same as in Halo but is now a little less powerful. The rocket launcher now has a very unique feature that lets you lock onto a target and when you fire the rocket, it will home into your target. Very useful when when trying to hit moving vehicles. The grenade is powerful. Powerful enough to flip small vehicles over. The covenant got a lot of new weapons. The plasma pistol is exaclty the same as it was in Halo but now you dual wield them. The plasma rifle shoots a little faster now and you can dual wielded it as well. The Brute plasma rifle is a little more powerful then the regular plasma rifle and it can be dual wielded too. The needler is very good now. It fires faster and the needles do more damage then before Dual wield these and your in business. The covenant carbine is a very good weapon when used at medium range. It has the same zoom feature as the Battle Rifle. The particle beam rifle is equivalant to the sniper rifle. It has the same zoom and kills Elites with one shot to the head instead of two shots with the sniper rifle. The Brute Shot fires powerful grenades. You can fire these grenades in rapid succesion until the 4 round clip runs out. The energy sword is the deadliest weapon in close quarters. Only one fatal lunge attack kills oppents in one hit, but must first be locked in the targeting reticle first. The fuel rod gun is a very powerful weapon. So powerful that it can disable small vehicles. It even has a zoom feature to help make it more accurate. The Plasma grenade or "Sticky Grenade" comes in handy when trying to disable a moving vehicle or opponent. It's ability to be able to stick to things makes it very useful.
The vehicles have been tweaked as well. Now vehicles can be destroyed and damaged. All vehicles can be jacked from another player, The ghost for instance can be over taken by pressing "X" right in front of the ghost. Your player will automatically jump around and kick the driver out of it's seat. Your player then jumps in the seat. The ghost now fires a lot faster and there is a "Boost" feaure that lets you move a lot faster then normal, but while in boost mode your weapons are disabled. The Banshee also has a Boost feature. It's cannons also fire a lot faster then before, and the fuel rod cannon is the secondary weapon which delivers a powerful plasma blast. The Wraith tank has the Boost feature too but it's only available on 1 second bursts. It's main weapon is a plasma mortar. The Spectre is a multi-troop armored transport. It can hold a driver, gunner, and two people that can ride on the side. The gun is a plasma cannon. The Shadow is the most flexible ground-based troop transport, capable of delivering multiple armed troops quickly and effiecently. The human vehicles consist of two different types of Warthogs, and tank. The only difference between the two is the guns mounted on the back. One machine gun is the same gun found in the first Halo, and the other gun is a turret mounted magnetic accelerator cannon which extremely powerful. The tank is heavy and slow but the most powerful vehicle in the game. It's main weapon is a 90mm high velocity shell, and it's secondary weapon is a machine guns that fires 7.62mm armor piercing tracer rounds.

Improves upon the original in every aspect. However, a short cliffhanger campaign prevents it from getting a perfect 10.
