This is definitely a review I should of done a couple years back, but I haven't really been on GameSpot much these days, so I decided to come back and give another review. Well, what can I say? I've got alot of nostalgia for this game, as it was one of my first wrestling games, anyway let's begin. WWE SmackDown! vs Raw for the PS2 is a really underrated game, as it may feel like an upgrade of WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain graphically, but it has some new stuff included. For starters, the basically new stuff in the game are the clean and dirty meters, for clean, you must do clean moves such as jumping off the turnbuckle, some grapples and taunts (not the full list), for dirty, you must do things the fans dislike such as low blows, removing the turnbuckle pad, and using weapons. There is a few updates to the matches, they added a tornado tag mode to the Elimination Chamber. This game has an alright roster, but missing some great legends (Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan). Season wise the season is like HCTP's but a bit different, the wrestlers now speak with the real voice from the actual superstar's input, but nothing else is really different. Another feature that has been added in SVR 05 is that this is the first game to feature full commentary by Jerry "The King" Lawler and J.R. for Raw and Michael Cole and Tazz for SmackDown! If you look back at previous games' commentary they have been terrible (JBI) but in this game it's better to hear the commentators have a conversation instead of them uttering random quotes. All in all, this game is underrated and looking back it isn't the best, but I like it because of the nostalgia factor. Thanks for reading my review and check out my other reviews.
