Shadows of Untertide is the first expansion to Neverwinter Nights, and its campaign takes place at the same time as the original NWN campaign. The expansion adds 5 prestige classes, new spell, new feats, and several other features including the modifications of henchmen's inventories. The story line is nothing special but Shadows of Untertide still provides a solid D&D 3.5 game play experience. It is hard to explain why the story line seems rather boring other than the fact that it feels very generic. My conclucsion is that is has something to do with a certain person getting shanked by a small group of home invading Kobolds even though he/she is capable of casting 7th level cleric spells at the very minimum. This took away the believability of the plot for me. You encounter the memorable character Deekin for the first time in SoU. Overall Shadows of Untertide provides a solid D&D experience that is worth playing through before you begin Hordes of the Underdark (Which picks up after Shadows of Untertide ends). Shadows of Undertide provides a solid D&D 3.5 experience while adding some cool content but, has a weak plot.
