Type scan. Now type decrypt. Now type crack. Now type connect. Now type download. Now click logout. This is the essence of Hacker Evolution. Being a fan of Uplink, I thought this was another version of the game I had liked so much, but I was quite wrong. At first glance it plays like Uplink, but the presentation is a bit too simple. It does avoid the confusion about what to do sometimes that was present in Uplink during difficult missions, but its way too simple in what you have to do. After playing the game for 10 minutes you basically have seen all there is to see. And you cant even avoid being traced a lot of the time, as a lot of the game isnt based on skill. You will find yourself being forced to cheat to get money (type x than press tab to see codes) as your trace meter builds up even if you arent doing anything wrong and it stays between levels, possibly leaving you 2 levels down the line without enough money to killtrace. If you can get it in a free download like I found it a few weeks ago, it can make for a good half hour distraction, but I would suggest finding something else to spend your time on. 3/10.
