Not as Super as Gunstar Heroes.

Some of us have waited 13 years for this moment. Was it worth it? Well, yeah.

Some people have their Metroid, their Zelda, their Sonic the Hedgehog.... well, Gunstar Heroes is my Metroid, Zelda, or Sonic, and, unfortunately, there are only 2 games in the Gunstar universe, and they have a 13 year age difference.

Story wise, this is a sequel to the original Gunstar Heroes, labeled by many (including myself) as the best Sega Genesis game to date. However, with a few minor additions, the levels are pretty much a remake of the original.

Gone is the weapon combo system, instead you have 3 preset weapons which vary slightly depending on whether you play as Blue or Red (which are their Gunstar code names). Each of these weapons have their own super meter, which allow some both pretty cool looking and powerful attacks.

The game's action, a nice high score and completion time record keeper, and the unbelievable graphics, make it unrivaled on the Game Boy Advance. However, I can tell you that I've beaten the game with Red on Hard mode in 25 minutes and 34 seconds (25:34). As you may have guessed, this game is very short. Shorter than the original by a good 20-30 minutes. The plus to that? Gunstar Super Heroes is a very good ''pick-up-and-play'' game. There are some pretty cheap bosses in hard mode too (namely, 2-1 moon boss, where you HAVE to take damage to kill it).

Overall, I would definitely suggest you pick this up ASAP, but don't expect an RPG's length of a single play through. The game can be beaten in an hour.
