The game's presentation is all there. It's only major flaw is its lock-on system and limited AI.

If the enemy isn't in Grave's LINE of sight, you won't lock on. Even if he's clearly visible and right next to you. You're forced to go into battle head-on or hold the lock-on button and strafe to the side until they're pretty much in a straight line in front of you.
Also when you lock on, if you happen to go behind a wall for cover, the game cancels your lock. As you would imagine you can't lock on while starting from behind a wall either.
And at times when the enemy is on top of a platform, the lock-on system becomes even more troublesome, as it sometimes won't respond, and you'll just be shooting forwards instead of upwards. Pretty frustrating when a barrage of enemies are chipping away at your health.
And you can't just hold the lock-on button and expect to lock on to other targets after that one dies, you have to press it again after each one.
And you can't lock on from afar, which to me, isn't really far.
But you can sometimes still get some hits in.
And speaking of distance, if the CPU is at a certain distance, they won't come after you. Or even try to shoot. They just stand motionless.
At this point, you can pummel them with bullets. Cheap. Yes.
When you put your shield up, the CPU mindlessly keeps shooting in a stationary position. This can last forever if you want. Obviously not dealing you any damage, they don't bother to move around to get to you.

The lock-on system does this game a great disservice, but it doesn't keep you from wanting to push on through anyway.
