On overlooked gem.

Gun Force is one of those really good games that nobody knew about. Gun force is a side scrolling shooter, very similar to Contra in fact. What makes Gun Force different is the game play. In Gun Force you are a future soldier, basically a soldier with all sorts of robotic equipment. Your primary weapon is an automatic rifle which can definitely get the job done. Your enemies are rival soldiers, robots, and any sort of automatic gun or turret operator. Your character can jump pretty high which makes for some highlight reel gun-blazing.

Controls: Your basic controls one button jumps and the other lays waste to the enemy filth or in other words fires weapon.

Sound: The sound is a great mix of fast paced midis that get you amped up for a good shooter.

Graphics: Very well done. The environments achieve what they need to make the player feel like they are in the future.

Game Play: innovative, there are some seriously cool moves you can pull off in this game from scaling a wire and taking out flying enemies to jumping in a helicopter and taking out the ground forces from above.

Overall: A definite must play for any fan of side scrolling shooters, it is a breath of fresh air compared to all the other games that tried to emulate the Contra experience and failed.
