This GBA game is possibly the best 2D Gundam game to date but can only be highly recommendable for fans only.

User Rating: 6.9 | Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Destiny GBA
Gundam Seed Destiny Battle Assault for the GBA is released in Japan only; it is the successor of Gundam Seed Battle Assault and improves from its predecessor in a lot of ways., but doesn’t necessarily mean this game is for everyone. Game design: The story mode has been removed from the previous game and instead you have an arcade mode. You will go through a series of fights against random opponents and will face the Providence Gundam (and a secret Battle) in the end.
You will earn money once you finish the arcade mode and can use it in the shop where you can buy new mobile suits, pilots, environments and many other things. Game play: The selection of mobile suits has increased; you will get all the mobile suits from the previous game plus new mobile suits emerging from the sequel Gundam Seed Destiny TV series.
Features from the old game are also still available such as phase shift armor, ultimate attacks, long range attack, melee attacks and thrusters, with simple controls that anyone can easily adapt to. The password system was removed and replaced with a shop, the shop will have different characters displayed at random and each will give you items for different prices. Pilots can also be changed in some mobile suits. Other modes such as survival, practice and challenge mode are available, and this time they are worth playing, since you can unlock things through playing these modes.

Sound: There are new music and music from the previous game. Mobile suits will have sound effects and characters will speak sentences when performing ultimate attacks.

Gundam Seed Destiny Battle Assault is a game with great potential. The game proves to be a lot more fun from the previous game and has a lot more content. The only problem (which may concern fans) is that the game is a bit too much of a fighting game than a Gundam game. The mobile suits motions are a bit too much like martial arts than actual mecha mobile suits, and the removal of the story mode to the arcade mode has greatly reduced the game’s presentation. Apart from the main menu screen this game is also entirely Japanese, no subtitles or anything so US or EU gamers should consider it, unless they are Gundam fans.
While this game can give Gundam fans what they want, for others, this can be considered a mediocre game, which is why I can only strongly recommend this game to Gundam fans while others would be better off ignoring this game.
