If you loved GH3 and all the other GH games. Your gonna hate this.
The song list: Now the song list just sucks even when I don't take the other games into consideration and when I do it sucks so bad that I just have to turn off the game and pop in Guitar Hero 3 for a breath of fresh air. It is comprised mainly of main stream garbage. Yeah the game had a huge song list but where was the good stuff like in all the other Guitar Hero's? It's just gone... The only stuff I found on here that I loved was the songs by Tool and a few classics such as "Hot for Teacher". So overall the song list was a total let down if your not a dumb 13 year old who only listens to whats played on public radio.
The game play: I'm at least happy to say the game play hasn't changed all that much but for some reason I found this game much harder to play than the other games. Right now I just can't seem to put my finger on why. Another bad thing is that you can not use a standard controller to play. That really got on my nerves. There was no reason to take that out and coming from a person that thinks it can be a lot of fun playing on a standard controller this was just game breaking for me.
the graphics/interface: This game had some great graphics. It looked really nice but just doesn't have that same feel as the other Guitar Hero games. The interface sucked so bad that as soon as I reached the song select screen I was just about ready to turn off the game but to completely review this game I just had to select a song and play. What I saw next almost made my eyes pop out of my face because of how much what was there before was modified. It just looked and felt ugly in almost every way. First off everything is much smaller and it caused some major problems for me. The main playing area is so thin that it takes a lot more effort to get through harder songs because it is now way to hard to tell how far apart the notes are from each other. Another bad thing is it just doesn't look like a guitar hero game anymore and like I said in the title of this review it just looks like a flashy cheap knock off.
