This game is fun. That I will say. But the thing that bothered me the most was it is the fact that it's really only a GH skinned Rock Band. I had plenty of fun playing the songs with my friends, but it bothered me way too much. They tried to make a good interface, but it ends up being a crammed set-up. Score multiplier to the side of the track, good. Everything else crammed in a corner? No. We played with 2 people and I could hardly see it without nearly failing out. I love the Guitar Hero games, but this one just didn't hit the mark. Character creation? Innovative for Guitar Hero, but not games. Than again, that's what people want to see. The majority of the songs are excellent, with a few weird ones. Glad they got Tool songs into it. I can see why so many people love this game, yes. Overall, it's great. But if you want a kick-butt band game, go to Rock Band.
Now I need to rant on the instruments... ;) The guitar is as great as ever. Wireless Guitar Hero goodness. Drums suffer the first band game curse. Cheap. Not to mention not switch-over friendly. Most people just use the Rock Band drums. The mic... nothing to say about it. Same as any USB mic.
Anyways, I'm not discouraging you buying this game if you want to go solo or co-op. But if you want to play in a full band, buy Rock Band.
