The very worst Guitar Hero, in my opinion.

User Rating: 6.5 | Guitar Hero World Tour (Guitar Kit) PS2
I was so disappointed in World Tour. I preordered it nearly a year before its release, and when I actually played it, I decided it probably wasn't even worth renting. The scheme of the game is completely screwed and isn't very friendly to fans of the series. If you are a newcomer, however, it's passable, I guess. For instance, you can only play songs in Career mode by themselves after you have played the set list you find it in. Set lists contain from up to three to seven songs at once, and if you were hoping to play just one awesome song from that set list, you still have to play through every last other song, no matter how crappy they might be. The worst part is, more than half of the game's eighty-four songs aren't that great. Sure, Hot for Teacher (by Van Halen) is a nice addition, I just never found it very fun to play on any instrument, besides vocals a little bit. But seriously, La Bamba?! Who ever even thought (besides Activision) to put a song like that into a rock-themed music series?! That completely caught me off guard. I just hope whoever sings that song knows Latin (which the whole entire song is in) pretty well. Also, around three other songs in the game are in a different language. For what I remember, they are Escuala de Calor, L'via deloca (or something like that), and Aggro. Luckily, Escuala de Calor is a fairly great and catchy song, no matter if you can't even pronounce the name of it. The worst part of the whole entire game, I have to say, is the visual style. What first brought me into the Guitar Hero franchise was the neon cartoon look of Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's. I was instantly turned off by this game's ugly and uncolorful style. The whole series has actually lost all of its flair ever since the new instruments were introduced in this game. The animation is horrible, it seems like a puppeteer is magically controling them from above. Also, like Gaminformer had said in their review, the characters kind of look like muppets. In addition to that, each character has the same animations every other character has for that instrument, which makes them seam lifeless and derivative to everyone else. All in all, I can indefinitely say this is the worst Guitar Hero I've played, even with the addition of new instruments.
