Man, Guitar Hero is turning into the Tony Hawk series.

GH: Metallica had some great things going for it. The soundtrack was amazing, the animations were better than GH: WT, and the expert + on drums was a complete surprise. Well, 4 months later, here comes GH: Smash Hits with 40+ of your favorite GH series songs. Gimme a break!

Activision is truly milking us for our hard earned money now. Am I sucker for buying this game, yes! Why did I buy it then? Because some of these songs were made to be played with a group of friends. There are some songs I wish they added to the soundtrack like "Welcome to the Jungle," or some of the My Chemical Romance songs that were available for download on GH2 for the 360 but oh well. Overall, the game is fun and harder than GH: Metallica, at least on guitar. The problem is, GH is getting stale. Everything looks, plays, and feels the same. Activision needs to take some notes from Rock Band and start an online store. This game could have easily been put on the PSN store for download. It's only a matter of time before GH's formula doesn't work for the fans anymore. GH: Metallica was a breath of fresh air and a step in the right direction after WT and Aerosmith but Smash Hits seems to take a step backwards. I am ready for some next gen GH awesomness and we're still stuck in the PS2 era. Note bending, foot pedals, distortion effects, better graphics, something different. C'mon Activision, time is running out.
