It's time for the Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock Review! For the Wii.

This game was my first Guitar Hero game. The game comes bundled with one guitar. You put the Wii Remote inside the guitar, and the wiimote powers the guitar. Which is great because that means less batteries to buy!

If you've never played a Guitar Hero game, here is how it works. Basically, you are playing a song, and you have to hit the keys while strumming on the strum bar. If you have to hold a note, you can use the whammy to change the pitch. There is also a trick(not really) that helped me a lot. Basically if you have to hit the same note a lot, just hold down that key and keep strumming. Some notes are star notes, and if you hit them, you get star power, which will give you more points. You can also whammy on long star notes to get more star power. You can also play with just the Wiimote. I have never tried that, but I heard it's very, very challenging.

The playlist is rounded out with rock songs. There is a good chance that you've probably never heard of these songs. My favorites are Rock 'N Roll All Nite, Cult of Personality, Bulls on Parade, and Through The Fire and Flames! Well, I was just kidding about that last one. I don't hate it, but it's known for being the hardest song in this game. Seriously! However, there were some songs missing from the playlist. Where were all of the Green Day songs?

The graphics are jagged and a little blurry. Ehh......

The controls...well I just mentioned them at the beginning. If you want to see me explain the controls again, scroll up. When you start playing for the first time, you will probably have a hard time, but if you stick with it, then you'll start to enjoy the game. There was one problem though. The whammy would sometimes not work right. You can calibrate it though so that fixes it.

There are various different modes. There is career, where you play the songs in each part of the "story", and is actually essential if you want to unlock songs. After every song you play in career, you gain money based on how you did, but you get fined because of damage(you won't actually do the damage, it's just for show.) You can use the money to buy new guitars, clothes, videos, characters, and songs. In the career mode, there are boss battles. I'll talk about them later in the multiplayer section.

In Quick Play, you can choose a song to play, and you play it. At the end, you get a score, and you can keep track of scores with a leaderboard.

There is multiplayer, but to play you need two guitars, and the game comes bundled with one. In Multiplayer, you can play Face-off, Pro-Faceoff and Battle. Battle is what I mentioned in the Career mode. Basically you go against another player and try to eliminate them. Basically you have to hit the notes, but instead of star notes, the star notes give you items if you hit all the notes in the sequence. Basically you have to get your opponent to red. This isn't the best mode in the game, because it only lasts about a minute. If no one loses by the end of a song it becomes sudden death. Now it's time for Face-Off. In this it's a standard match. You have to get a better score than your opponent. Pro Face-Off is the same thing but you hit the same exact notes at the same time, as opposed to Face-Off, where you have different notes and different parts.

There is also an online mode! And I didn't have a problem finding a match. You can also enter friend codes to play your friends.

Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock is a great game. Other than a new playlist, the game is faithful to the rest of the series. $90 is enough to pay for a game/guitar bundle, and the guitar you get is also compatible with other Guitar Hero games on the Wii. The only downsides are one, you can't download new songs. In World Tour, I think you can with your Wii Points. Also, you can only use the guitars, you can't use other Guitar Hero Instruments. However, I will forgive that one because I think that this was the first Guitar Hero game for the Wii.

This game gets an 8.5 out of 10 with the title of Great.
