A great game that anyone of any age can enjoy time and time again. It's casual gaming at its best.

User Rating: 9 | Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock WII
For anyone who has been living under the video gaming rock for the past 5 years or so, Guitar Hero III is the third entry into Activision's music based series, Guitar Hero. It follows the same basic premise as the previous two games in the series but introduces tracks that were not included in those prior games. Fans of older classic rock tunes such as "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Slow Ride", "Welcome to the Jungle", or "Rock You Like a Hurricane" will definitely find this title to be a welcome edition to the Guitar Hero family.

During the game, you take a band (led by you, the guitar hero) and tour around to various venues in search of money and larger audiences. Additionally, you will earn the right to face off against actual guitar legends from the world of rock-n-roll in a boss-style battle. One of the boss battles I found particularly fun was Slash, from Guns-n-Roses fame.

The game is the standard color-matching, proper-time guitar strumming found in the series and in other games such as Rock Band. There are multiple levels of challenge that players can attempt ranging from easy to expert, each level adding additional colored buttons, notes, and requiring greater speed as would-be guitarists move from song to song.

One thing that makes this game truly enjoyable is the fact that virtually anyone can play it. Adults and children alike can pick up the plastic video controlled guitar and rock out just as they had always dreamed....kind of. Many casual gamers who are not accustomed to playing the hard core, 30-hour plus adventures can (and will) often find themselves playing and enjoying this game an hour or two at a time without feeling like they must overexert themselves or put more time than they can afford into a game.

Guitar Hero III is without a doubt a worthy entry into the Guitar Hero series and a game that anyone with a craving for "rocking out" will enjoy. Whether you are 5 or 50, this game will provide you a few hours of musical fun and show you that you can unleash your inner rock star within the comforts of your own home.
