basically, it's a game where you get to play a guitar. but it's really addicting.

User Rating: 8.5 | Guitar Hero II PS2
the good - it gets really addicting, a lot of unlockables, some pretty good songs are in the game, it's fun playing against other people, the graphics are actually pretty cool

the bad - the 1 player mode isn't exactly a strong point of the game, Hard and Expert mode seem nearly impossible, even Medium mode can be challenging, if you play by yourself then you probably won't play this all the time, your hands might get sore after a while

Guitar Hero, Rock Band and all those kinds of games are really expensive but they're pretty fun. you get to name your band when you start and basically, you go on different tours and have to beat a certain number of songs to get to the next one and eventually beat the game. to play the guitar, you have to hold down a button called the Fret button and press the buttons that show up on the screen.
there's 5 different buttons and they're all different colors, green, red, yellow, blue and orange. sometimes you'll have to hold a button down for a longer time or press 2 different buttons at the same time. every song is unique and different. there's 4 different difficulties.
Easy mode isn't easy for an easy mode but it's really not too hard to master it, the only buttons you'll press are the green, red and yellow buttons.
Medium is harder and can actually be pretty challenging. you'll use the green, red, yellow and the blue buttons on this mode.
Hard and Expert are both extremely hard and use all of the buttons.

you'll get money for each song and when you get money you can unlock bonus tracks, new characters, new guitars, etc.
even after you unlock everything and beat the career mode, you'll probably find yourself playing against a friend or trying to beat records for each song.
some of the songs are old and some are newer. there's some pretty good songs in the game like Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynrd which is the longest song in the game.
overall, these kinds of games are worth playing and are really addicting but i don't think it's the kind of game that'll keep your attention forever. especially if you're more into adventure games.
