Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II have their goods and bads. Overall, I prefer Guitar Hero II, but that's my opinion. Anyway, here are some pros and cons:

GUITAR HERO PROS:
- A lot of cool songs (Iron Man, Godzilla, I Wanna Be Sedated, Smoke on the Water, Infected, etc.)
- Good graphics...probably just as good as GHII if not better.

GUITAR HERO CONS:
- Cannot choose separate difficulty levels in multi-player mode.
- Gameplay isn't as good as GHII. (Beginning songs are too easy, and ending songs are too hard.)

GUITAR HERO II PROS:
- Great selection of songs
- Good graphics
- Better single- and multi-player gameplay than GHI (can choose separate difficulty levels for each player)

GUITAR HERO II CONS:
- Can't think of any!

I decided to review the 2-in-1 value pack because that's what I bought, and I am very happy with it! Save yourself some bones by getting this value pack and a couple used guitar controllers from GameStop. This is my recommended way to begin jamming!
