Guitar Hero 5 Brian Bright Interview

Guys, don't judge this game unless you have it! DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK (OR VIDEO GAME) BY IT'S COVER I have this game and i am hooked on iT and obsessed with guitar hero! In my opinon, it has every thing every other rythm games do not. It has alot more things than rock band and is better. The song on it are awesome and no game, rock band or guitar hero, can get better than this! even my brother likes this and he is only 10! I rate this 10/10!

im not getting another guitar hero game until they make a decent drumset or at LEAST a decent pedal

Hardcore s**it you say huh? Try listenning to some real Metal, not this s**t you mentioned. Listen to Mayhem,Venom,Bathory,Gorgoroth,Kataklysm,Krisium,Kreator. And more DECENT BLACK METAL bands. I wanna see GHP FC Black Metal songs. Haha instant fail. The posers out there will rate me down, i'm sure about it. Only Troos know what i'm talking about. pfft, this new generation of metal called "metalcore" haha. Fail.

I realy want some hardcore s***t from this game like Lamb Of God, Ektomorf, the songs from the new Killswitch Engage album, In Flames and all the other cool bands

@ TheJoeyness: Dude, check your facts. If your Hard Drive corrupts, you can always re-download your already-bought DLC for free...

Neoplayer2, I don't see your blog... I was actually quite interested because I feel the same way about Guitar Hero... But I am super excited about the new songs you can play on this one though.

All right, I started making a really long post about Guitar Hero, but I think I'll just make a blog of it on my profile. If you care, feel free to read my rant on how Guitar Hero has gone somewhat downhill since GH2.

GH will always stand head and sholders above RB. And this game is only going to push GH that much higher than RB. Love the way this looks, should turn out fantasticly.

2 lead guitars? 2 drum could play simultanously? dam, nice. i guess i got drums the whole night when my friends come over to play =)

I love Guitar Hero... sure they make several different versions... but u don't have to buy them all... dang- but this one is definitely one I WILL get- the whole party play concept is good- because le's be real, the career mode is only played so we can unlock all the songs- and then we're free to play it with all our friends- As a college student we spent several nights pre- gaming with this game in... (And for those who don't know what pre-gaming is- it's jus getting drunk, before u go out somewhere...)

Why do people want more DLCs. DLCs are more expensive then a new game. On Xbox Live, a 1 new song costs 160 points for Rock Band and GHWT. Do the math, 84 songs is 13440 points which costs $168. Now, I know what you are going to say. "But the band game costs $180+. Well, with the band game, you are getting instruments as well as songs... And if you are getting DLCs... don't you already have the equipment? That means you only need to buy the $60 stand-alone game. $60 for 84 songs in a new game is a lot cheaper than $168 for 84 DLC songs. The only point anyone has made is that GH needs to learn about importing. While I don't think being able to import GH2, GH3 and GHA songs would ever work (because for the covers they would have to get the rights for the masters or make their own new covers because the old ones are Harmonix's for GH2, plus the fact they would have to make updated note tracks), GHWT, GH:M and GH:Smash Hits should be able to be imported. Also to those who said GH hasn't changed much... It sure as hell has changed a lot more than Rock Band. Thats my 2 cents. Flame shield: Activated.

one good thing is that the game is going to have the RB vocal engine, a special bar that tells you if you are going to do the phrase right or not. Also that its going to have SP phrases, and not the whole song to get SP.

they did up the bar, didnt you notice the party play?!?! that is NOWHERE in rock band. Im a HUGE rock band fan, love it, but thats definitely something that would make me think about getting GH5

I hate having to admit this, but if this is all that can be coughed up for a new GH game I'm just going to have to give it up. Until something truly new and exciting can be developed and GH can produce the massive amount of DLC that Rockband offers on a continuous basis, it feels more like milking a franchise than advancing it. Sigh. Rockband has offered a package that's straightforward and enjoyable enough as-is. That puts the pressure here to up the bar, and I can't see it happening for now.

@ Blink3r I have a job, a family, and friends. I'd wager I have a fulfilling life. Unlike you I actually put some serious thought into my posts and thus the resulting factor is a bit of a rant. Oh well! I can only go on the assumption that the reason you refuse to read my post is due to your illiteracy. I forgive you. On another note as aforementioned what's the point of making it publicly known that you are bored or don't care for the franchise any longer? You don't like it? Looks good, but they need more DLC and need to make it more obvious when you miss notes on drums. Some of the DLC for World Tour was overpriced also.

I can feel the testosterone levels begin to rise as the competition for the best rhythm game is at hand once again. Personally Guitar Hero has the best game mechanics while Rock Band maintains a decent track selection. I don't much care for Rock Band, but that's because I despise the game mechanics. To me it feels too restricted. Where Rock Band has failed Guitar Hero has excelled and visa versa. While I enjoyed the diversity of World Tour the track list didn't seem to fit. Come on... Willie Nelson - On The Road Again NO THANKS! I prefer Guitar Hero over Rock Band based on the game mechanics because it's far more user friendly. So for those of you **** and complaining that Guitar Hero is nothing like playing a real instrument. You're absolutely right... but then again it's a Video Game. If you WANT to feel as though you're playing a real instrument I suggest actually picking one up. I don't want the hassle and frustration of PERFECT timing on a rhythm game. These rhythm games come close, and granted they're not genuine it's still fun to play these games. Regardless of how much you THINK they're milking the franchise for the fact remains that so long as there is music there will be rhythm games. It's not milking a franchise... it's capitalizing on it's market. Simple enough. The game looks VERY polished and I must admit that I'm quite impressed by the interview, and while the general consensus is that the games should die in peace (and might I mention the fact they're actually taking the time to comment on something they claim to hate yet can't stop talking about) I for one think that they're doing a wonderful job of maintaining a steady pace for the true fans. I do recall seeing someone complaining about the DLC. Okay. Rock Band has a hefty selection of DLC and Guitar Hero seems to be lacking in that department. Allow me to retort and offer up a piece of my mind for you to chew on. First and foremost there are NUMEROUS and I mean NUMEROUS gamers that feel a little more secure having tangible content. While DLC is awesome it has a downfall and that's if your system corrupts ALL of your precious data disappears and all that money you spent on your DLC is just flushed away. So again while most of you are **** about the milking of the franchise just that in mind. Secondly having more of a diverse compilation is better than spending a crop of cash on DLC for a single song. There are multiple track packs, but you only like one song on that entire track pack. Chances are you're going to avoid purchasing that track pack, but lets take that one song you like so much and put it on a disc that you keep in possession and PRESTO it's not only tangible, but if you decide to take it to a friends house it's a little more simple than taking your system or having to trouble yourself with removing the hard drive. Lastly it all comes down to money. Go ahead and spend your hard earned cash on DLC of which your putting MORE money into it alone than the game is worth. Oops... Your hard drive just corrupted... Too bad! Refer to reasons number one and two. Thank you and I bid you farewell. Have fun continuing to complain while I wait in anticipation for the next BIG Guitar Hero to drop.

the idea sounds awesome... but who really needs that many guitarist? i like rockband way better. sorry GH... i think u guys need sumthing new :(

eh it's a good idea to put duplicate instruments into use, but at the same time it's kinda messed up and never would've been a problem if they hadn't milked the series so much.

Does anybody know if the tracks from GHWT can be downloaded to GH5 like RB2 did with the songs with RB? If not, GH can count me out.

guitar hero started this crap. yeah there were other music rhythm games, but Guitar hero created it the best.

Red Octane and Harmonix should suck up their bride, make up, and create the best rhythm game again. Hands down the original Guitar hero is better than anything that followed, Guitar Hero or Rock Band.
