Guild wars, a game that i would prefer call it a "strategy MMOrpg" than a MMOrpg like wow aion everquest, etc. After 1137 hours and 8 minutes of Guild wars i think i can say it's pretty addictive. but as any MMO it get REALLY boring if you know no one that plays so you can talk to them every day, in school or work, etc.
My cousin and his friends played Guild Wars and it was pretty cool until they stopped! In my opinion you should start by Guild wars Nightfall, the best story ever.
PVP is nice, but "random arena" it get annoying sometimes because you can be unlucky and never get a healer for your party, or get noob players. then you decide to go to a monk(healer) and you make 1 or 2 games and you find another healer, that will probably make you lose. Other thing that is realy cool is tha insta 20(max lvl) characters so you don't have to compleatly lvl up a character to play in PVP.
And many people complains about lvl cap only goes to lvl20... i think it's just exelent, if it would go farther it would get boring maybe.
Buy it, make your family/friends buy it and have fun ;)

Possibly the best no monthly fee MMO there is. Though limited when compared to WoW, you get more than what you pay for.

Guild Wars is a great RPG that has enough originality to be a pretty enjoyable game with lots of re-play value.
