A truly unique MMORPG that provides one of the most immersive playing experiences in gaming history. Truly amazing.
You start off just like any other mmorpg selecting your class and body type, etc. In this game you get a primary and a secondary allowing a large number of combinations. The HUGE number of skills and spells is crazy making it almost impossible to have the same character as you buddy when he or she logs on.
There are plenty of ways to customize your weapons, armor as well.
The first thing you will notice is that there is no monthly fee, the second thing you will notice is the amazing graphics. Seemingly years ahead of WoW in the graphics department this game with truly put your graphics card to work. Without decent cards you will suffer long load times that may make your party wait for you and ultimatley drop you out of favor with them (seriously).
The worlds and areas are very diverse, from deserts to deep, rich forests to ocean side stops this game has it all. The best feature for most casual gamers is something unheard of in MMORPGs - the wap ability. You can run the map if you choose to, but you can also teleport to any place you have been previously with a click of a button. This eliminates long runs to meeting areas and ultimatley gives you more time to kill mobs and have fun.
isnt that what an mmmorpg should be all about anyways?
When you first start out there is a "pre-searing" area where you can level up to about level 6 or 7 if you choose to by running quests that happen before the main mission storylines. This area is much more peaceful and you will find yourself helping people, and running either yourself or just 2 people parties killing worms and large bulls out by the river. This area is very peaceful and some actual ly enjoy it mroe than the game itself.
The developers put a lot of work into each little area.
The dialogue is great, and you will find lots of pop culture references. The storlyine is absolutley one of the best you will find in near any game ever made. The characters are both likable and hate-able and you will find your character truly engrossed in the world it lives in.
You feel truly bad and will cry out "noooo" during certain deaths.
PVP is also fun and despite people running the same builds you will find that for the most part its fun. I won't go into too much detail about this aspect as it really is great, but nothing compared to the storyline fun.
If you are looking for a great game, with a pretty darn good community and no monthly fee this is it. Arguably the greatest PC game of all time - Guild Wars has everything a gamer could ever want.
Play this before you regret missing the chance.
