guild wars is defintily a good game and it offers different gamplay then most mmo's out there. yeah i said it somthing different i know it doesnt happen often.while big company giants destroy the gerne of mmo's to publish somthing horriable for a monthly charge.(not everyone can be world of warcraft) and with the peak of mmo's at the top its not going to be long before they fall. but this doesnt stop ncsoft from releasing new content for this game on top of getting aion up and ready for its release. with guild wars two in production. guild wars offers a different style to gameplay where instead of you having to go and meet up with people to play in a party. your able to add npc ai into your party, or hero's
the henchmen are genral npc ai's with the smarts to do what they say. your a mage need some bronze to help yeah keep the baddies at a distance. try the warrior or brute henchmen. need a healer for those abush moments?
pick up a healer. the guild wars game is set up into 3 campains prophocies, factions, and nightfall.each being a completely different game and story. and when you get higher up your able to go into the lands of the other factions to beat that campain with your charecter.
the fun and bad part about guild wars is that the only place you see other people is in towns. once you leave a town you get your own copy of the game basically like a instance. this is good and bad. good is you dont have to worry about other people stealing your kills or hordy or alliance gankers.
but it also makes it hard to meet other players as well because while your actually playing you dont see people but in the places crowded by mindless public chat.
the level cap in guild wars only lets you get to lvl 20. and that in itself is not a very hard task. but the way guild wars skills and classes are set up is a main thing that makes it stand out. you have classes, warrior, ranger, monk, necromancer, mesmer, elementalist, and depending on your campain. ritualist or assasain. and paragon and dervish. each class opening up tons of skills and bunchs of ways to play one charecter. and the difference in the skill build sets it so far apart from world of warcraft i was lost in the first hours of gamplay. but once you get a hang of it and find the charecter you love. its on to the build of your charecter right?
guild wars makes it very easy and flexable to build your charecter the way you want them. having 3 attrubtes depending on class and one primary attributes that no other class will have. meaning yes you get to pick a secondary class. opening up more skills and more attributes to play with.
this is very fun because guild wars allows you to respec and reassign skills at anytime. and once you complete a mission(instance) you are able to also pay gold to unlock other classes as your secondary. allowing you at anytime to switch your secondary. but this also has its ups and its downs because they only allow one skill bar of 8 skills. to spand out over two classes. which makes the skills you select very important.
one downside i found with this game is in the ranger class. you would think a tiny warthog would very in difference to a tiger. this is not so your given skills that make your pet stronger, faster, tougher. but you have to assisgn the skills to the 8 slot skills bar. which if you want a pet. it turns into a 6 slot toolbar. because you need the skill charm animal which is merly the skill you tame with and does nothing more for you. and you need your pet healing skill to res and heal. and you also need your skills for your bow and the skills to make the pet better.your pet does have evolutions as it levels. which will make the pet have more armor or attack harder. depending on how it fights during its level up. where you would think that you traveling all the way across the world in search of a rare creature to tame. would be worth while its merly a trophie. because a tiger would be the same and the rare pet. but then you cant even show it off because no one sees you outside of town. which the pet does not appear inside town.
guild wars does offer a lot of things to do after you reach lvl 20 that is. you can join a guild and help ethier of the two factions the kersick or the luxen. competing against the other faction in pvp and also in controling towns within the game. which owning a town makes supplys and gear cost less and you get special items opened up to you. but at the same time your against them your also in against the guilds within the faction. the two factions fight over how maney cities they own. and the guilds within fight to earn points which can then be used to buy towns.
a guild is fun its a way to gain a cool cape. on top of a guild hall. which is on whatever kinda of island your leader bought. your leader is able to buy merchents and other goodies for your guild hall to make it easier then runing into a crowded town.
but guild wars also offers all its ups and downs just for the retail price. thats right you can just buy the maney different games and begin playing. all you do is create an account on there website then log in and begin playing. get bored for a while its fine because you can take a break knowing its not sucking money from your pocket. guild wars in its whole intirity is an amazing game offering so much more then what i menctioned. it is well worth the money and the time.
